Default What comic/series tells rocket raccoon story?

    Hi,
I stared reading rocket raccoon comics I want to know if someone can help me to fill the blank: what should I read to get his storyline? I have read the original 4 issues series (from 1985, I think) that tells rocket origin and read the series that have his name on marvel unlimited site, but based on what I read on the later, there is something missing in between where he got separated from the rest of the crew that left the planet with the robots and lost his memory (and changes personality; the rocket from later looks really different from the original one for me). Based on the information I could gather, he seems to appears in the guardians of the galaxy series (obviously) and also in the annihilation series, but there are several of both of those. Can someone point me a reading ordering of this series (and maybe other I have missed) to get rocket and the guardians (as a team) background story?
    Thank you.

I want to know what happened AFTER that. Between this begging and the current issues (where rocket is a member of the guardians).

After the 80's mini series he was in limbo for a long time. They brought him back during the 2000's Annihilation Event that revamped some of Marvel's old cosmic characters.

Was he in Annihilation? I thought he only showed up in the sequel Annihilation: Conquest.

But yest, RR was in limbo after his mini series until he returned in the A:C and the Abnett/Lanning GotG title.

He showed up in She Hulk vol2 issues 44-46. I think that was his only apperence between his mini series and his showing up in Annihliation Conquest: Starlord which roles right into the Guardians of the Galaxy era.

That's what I meant. I kinda think of them as the same thing.

I don't know. I just started reading comics and I'm trying to situate myself. So, Annihilation and Annihilation: Conquest are 2 different series? I have see a lot of Annihilation: <something>. What are the order and relations between those? Can someone give me some insight or point a guide for a newbe? I'm kinda lost...

If you are just interested in Rocket Raccoon then you can skip the original Annihilation story, as he's not in it. Though I wouldn't recommend it. It's the best event Marvel has had since the 90s. He makes his reappearance after a long time in limbo in the Annihilation Conquest: Starlord mini. He was in jail and had developed a friendship with Groot since we last saw him. Throughout that event he is part of the proto GotG, and then after the event ends he forms the official team along with Groot, Starlord and others. He appears in the series by DnA's whole run, and is one of the few returning members when Bendis remakes the team in the movie's image. He has had quite a few minis or series since the movie rose his prominence, some decent, some too goofy for my tastes. His most recent series called simply Rocket was written by Al Ewing and does the most to close the gap between his pre-Annihilation appearances and post-Annihilation. I highly recommend that series. I was just out earlier this season.
