In the comics, Blade wasn't originally a Daywalker. In fact, wasn't it Morbius who bit him and turned him into one? They could easily follow that story in the films.

Correct. It was in the Peter Parker Spidey series in the 90s. Originally Blade only had immunity to being transformed into a full vampire and couldn't be hypnotized by them. I think he had slow aging as well. But the immunity to daylight and the "boosting" of his natural abilities into super human territory was caused by the bite from Morbius interacting with his blood.

I think Marvel just retconned it into being something he gained from Frost. Purely for simplification.

I haven't read modern blade stuff, but he was a day walker in tomb of the Dracula when he was introduced I think.

It looks fun and I like the gag at the end.

Trying to be as upfront as possible with the Marvel/Spider-Man connection...look, OsCorp! We make Venom references/jokes! The Daily Bugle! Raimi Spider-Man, for some reason .

I feel like they're better off leaning more into this as a horror movie than a Superhero movie, but Morbius does tend to toe the line.

It looks much, much better than Sony other "Spider-universe" Venom movies.

It also has a pretty good cast.

I'm actually intrigued by this.

People Are Strange takes me back to The Lost Boys, so maybe it's for that vampire connection.
