Ideas that keep getting tried...

I'm sure some of you can think of a few.

I'll start this by suggesting a couple that always make me groan when I see them announced.

-- Justice League B titles.

You do realize that some times these ideas are "tried" to serve a specific, limited-time purpose and aren't necessarily designed to last fifty-or-more issues?

Titans with Nightwing being Batman like or a traitor or whatever

Giving a villain like Sinestro an ongoing.

Putting a power ring on almost every character in the DCU.

A promo that says, "This will shake the DCU to its foundations and will change everything!" But it really changes nothing.

Superhero comics in general with perhaps five or six exceptions.

Everything other then the big staple names, are going to be a hard sell.
So I'm all for trying (and re-trying) new takes on secondary characters, even though they may never sell as strong, or as long run.
There is only a hand-full that can have that staying power.
But the rest of the U lives and breathes with these secondary characters, always there on the periph, So keep bringing them back.

I do agree however the Justice League B titles are spent, we know who the JL is, they are not convincing anyone, JL stays interesting by adding and rotating characters etc. always stays fresh that's the JL.
If you want to spin-off a group from it into a new title, that's not the JL at least come up with new freakin name for the team that isn't Justice League ____, that speaks to what makes them different, if you haven't even done that you barley come up with a reason for them to be a new team.

The folks at DC obviously think that "Justice League" has value as a brand name, but it doesn't.
