    Default Too many Special Forces?

Is anyone here starting to get tired of all of the new forces and corps that they keep creating? I love Green Lantern, and I loved the multitudes of different Corps they created. I thought it was a nice expansion of the mythos to have a Yellow Lantern Corps, or Red, Blue, and Violet. But now we got an UV Corps, and it feels like they are just recycling the same idea again and again.

Same thing over in The Flash. The Speed force has been established for years. But now we have the Still force, and the Power force... what's next, the facial hair force?

Yeah but .... Our ally is the Force. 'And a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."

    Yeah they are milking it.

    Yes, it's bloody stupid.

I would add more but... nah, that about covers it.

Anything that's a major part of a popular franchise ends up getting milked to death.

Bat-centric vigilante's, Forces, Spider-Powers, Kryptonian powers, Lantern rings, Gamma Radiation, etc.

Yes, and they're not making the stories very interesting. The powers and abilities should be the cream on top, not the thrust of the story itself. And when it is, the character work should still occupy the heart of the story.

I have said for years DC should role all these groups under one title with each branch dealing with one specific specialty. Put them all under the DEO with the head of each dept making up the governing council. There would be one person who the council reported to and they would be the head of the DEO who would report directly to the president.

I agree. I have no clue what ARGUS even does for example.

ARGUS is basically SHIELD. It's the general purpose Superhero government organization.

Yeah, I gotta be honest, there's a limit to how far you can expand any ideas and strength/sage force is kind of it for me. Makes the Speed Force way less special. Moreover, I font like that Barry generated it. Never been a fan of "chosen ones" though.

I definitely agree. The problem is that they try to create their own forces while the original forces still got great potential. Speed force and emotional spectrum still have some mysteries and untold stories but they just avoid it.
Creating too many characters is the same problem. Each writer creates their own Robin, Batgirl, human Green Lantern, Speedster and villain while they could establish the old ones. They need to stop or at least rest and make some stories about untold tales of old characters and concepts.

That’s what I thought but then where do the rest fit in? Frankly I’d make Waller the director of ARGUS, under the authority of the DEO which has a Secretary that answers to the President. Cadmus would be the unethical research wing of ARGUS, Task Force X under ARGUS supervision, Checkmate the division of ARGUS responsible for Crisis-tier situations. That way ARGUS has more of a Presence because right now they do jack.

    I would go -

    ARGUS - extraterestial and interdimensional

    SHADE - mystical

    Checkmate - homeland security

Cadmus - biologic threats and research

    STAR Labs - technological research

Taskforce X/Suicide Squad - black ops

I mean, that's pretty much what they are anyways, even if DC hasn't been as good about cohesively using them all together (I mean, when was the last time Cadmus came up?).

DEO has also pretty much as the alien response part of the government.
