I will raise my throne above the Stars of God
Interesting choice for a solo series. He didn't get a chance to do too much in Deadpool 2, but I thought he had potential. I think the time is right for his star to rise a bit.

I feel the biggest draw to the char. Now is his sexuality. Which is cool but if he identified as straight would MOjoWorld really be the potential cinematic world Marvel is trying to push??,would that many people be interested?
I mean 'star is a diversity win only better by a little in a way Psylocke is a win for Asian representation. He's an able bodied, white, cis Man has a more masculine demeanor and kicks ass. In a world where mutants could be anyone im soooo sick of of it being increasingly whitebLets just call it as it is. I know they publish more rhan one book the only where the cast is not 80% white is X-Men Red
WooHoo?
when did he say he was pansexual?
I forgot that it's not enough to not be hetero to not be counted as minority representation, now.
Racialists and their hierarchies...
Racialists? lol never heard that one
Annnnyway.
I'm just saying Since Star was not A. Born into a culture where sexuality exists B . Did not grow up in a world where he was told his sexuality was wrong C did not have laws against his sexuality D. Wasn't raised to think a certain sexuality/ gender idea is normalized. E. Is seemingly a white straight dude. It's like 'Star is the least minority status Marvel could go....if I'm making sense
I mean he waz created 28 years ago been a minority for 9 of 'em I just think X-Books could do sooo much better
Not really a character I see holding a book for too long, but a good writer can work wonders.
I would be interested in a Shatterstar series whether he’s gay, bi, straight, pan or otherwise. Have always liked the character since his introduction, much like Tim Seely. When ‘Star stabbed himself through the stomach to kill the Mojoworld soldier who was holding him I was like, “okay, this dude is pretty hardcore” and I’ve liked him ever since.
I mean I like him to. But enough to warrant a 2nd series??
Unless it's about him and his family(Dazzler Longshot)
then not sure what this series is bringing theto his characters narrative. Also Not Sure how many 'ShatterStar can't understand the context of our speech" or other "fish outta water" you can do without repeating yourself the most interesting things thatsthat's happened to the "almost idiot savant" he cut his hair and we learned he puts the SEXUAL in asexual

Can’t just the author having a (hopefully) cool story to tell about him be enough to warrant him having a second solo series? Doesn’t have to be any more to it than that honestly. Seely had a pitch, Marvel liked it. Boom. And it sounds like Seely is pumped about it, and I like the John Wick comparison. Shatterstar was raised on an alien home world in some other dimension to be a gladiator — a killing machine. Now he’s on our world and gets mixed up in some sh!t. Works for me.
Strange that they did not speak of any supporting cast or villain. A mini for a character like him without a great support or popular villain will not sell well I think

I agree that Marvel needs to include more people of colour in their choices for casts in solos and group books. We also should always be skeptical with how queerness tends to default as white in more mainstream texts.
It's really frustrating that, up until recently with a few notable exceptions mostly in X-books, Marvel writers created mostly white characters. Its a situation the movies are stuck with too, with some movies doing interesting things. It's a shame that Valkyrie couldn't always have been black like in Ragnorok, Shatterstar Asian like in Deadpool 2, etc.
That being said, I'm still excited that Shatterstar has a solo. I don't think he should be the poster-character for diverse representation, but I think he offers interesting queer dynamics with Rictor. I'd love it if the series followed up with RicStar... have they opened their relationship? Has Rictor stepped outside his comfort zone and unlearned what he knows about monogamy? Has Shatterstar sacrificed his curiosity because Rictor means so much to him, and how does he feel about that?
This book existing does not take away from any other characters. We rarely get books with underutilized characters, if Spider-Man can have like 5 books at a time a Shatterstar mini is not a problem.
I welcome more unexpected and unusual books, I thought people wanted Marvel to take more risks instead of giving characters like Wolverine several books?
Be sure to check out the Invisible Woman appreciation thread!
No, you're not making any sense. "He's been out for less time than he has existed so it's not representation" gotta be the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. Iceman has been out for less time. If you do some research there was already RicStar subtext before it became canon, etc.
If you think Marvel can do better with minorities go off on all the other straight male characters who are the ones getting the majority of solos. This book isn't stopping Storm or whoever to get a solo. Seriously, it's a 5 issue mini because the writer wanted to tell a story. Unlike Iceman, his sexuality isn't even part of the pitch here. They didn't went "Well, how can we have more minority representation on the X-Line?" and then came up with this.
Why are you talking like he just had a solo series that is getting relaunched or something? He had another 5 issues mini 13 years ago. It's not like Marvel was pushing him or anything.
