    Default From 'Descender,' Comes 'Ascender'

I love it. So happy this is continuing.

Might check this out, not sure yet. Descender has been great, sad to see it go...

I like the idea of how society is completely being overhauled.. I'm interested in how it gets like that and how it functions. Considering it's technically the same world that Lemire and Nguyen have built, you can count me in.

I'm super excited for this too. And keeping the same artist is going to be great.

That's a gorgeous piece by Dustin Nguyen!
    The shift away from spoilers:
    sci-fi to a more fantasy-oriented series
end of spoilers appeals to me a lot.

Wonder if the 10 year time-skip will feel believable, kinda seems on the short side maybe for spoilers:
machines to have vanished, and magic to reclaim the entire universe
end of spoilers. But I suppose you could nitpick the fun out of any story by zooming in on minutiae like that haha!

I kind of fell off the series while switching comic stores. How does Descender hold up over those last dozen or so issues?

It's at the climax of the series right now and it's been very good. There was an arc of r of individual spotlight issues that I REALLY enjoyed. Not sure if you got up to those before falling off.

Yeah, that was where I jumped off. I thought those issues were good but I did feel that it ground the series to a halt, unfortunately. Good to hear that it stays good all teh way through: I'm sure I'll catch up sooner than later. Especially because Ascender looks like an even more perfect fit for Nguyen's gorgeous art.
