Default Spider-Man/Deadpool #35: Truth about Parkers...

    Spider-Man - Deadpool 035 (2018)

The Parker parents were geniuses but maybe not the architects of the LMD program, just participants in it it seems now according to SHIELD File Project Doppleganger, because the FOUND Master Matrix in a HYDRA cache.

The Master Matrix origin is unknown to all and forgotten by him.

Bobbi got an ugly eyeful she can't unsee now. Other than Wade , nice clean art this chapter.

It's still unclear what agency Mockingbird, Joystick, Quarterman, and Silk work for. They can't be just Deadpool merc-like retainers HW-ed aboard an absconded Helicarrier, can they be? That's not right. The Shark Pair, Kate, Manphibian, and Hellcow too?

It was fun meet and greet between Present and Future version title protagonists. It was a welcome detail for the Peters to pay respects at the gravesite and to somewhat respect time travel confidentiality (especially after PPtSS).

Hellcow is a mole for Chameleon. Cham is aboard a Galactus robot that is prob connected to the one in the future, right? It's an all exposition issue, with little that happens and little else being notable, that leads to him facing off agains the Spideys!

    What did you think?

Not bad, although I should mention that the character you refer to as "Joystick" is actually Husk/Paige Guthrie from Generation X and X-Men, and "Quartermain" is actually an LMD working for Deadpool's crew. That aside, I would also like to know who she, Mockingbird, and Silk are working for now, assuming they're not just freelancers trying to clean up their former agency's messes. Oh, and don't forget about Screwball, who is also on Deadpool's crew. (She's quite fun.)

I've been struggling with this title lately. Matt Horak on art has been an excellent addition and has probably single-handedly stopped me from dropping this book in mid-arc.

But this story...is it just me or has it felt absolutely endless? It's not completely uninteresting conceptually but it's also kind of a muddle with all the characters involved and the switching between past and present (Horak's clean, appealing art helps alleviate that narrative muddiness) and it feels like it's stretched on for way too long.

I hate to bail in mid-arc on any title and some issues have been decent enough to re-engage my interest but this is a book that's definitely on the bubble with me.

Given recent events in DP's own book where he's mind-wiped himself, I wonder if we're going to see that reflected in SP/DP once this arc is over - or if this book might end altogether.

I dropped this after Kelly and McGuinness finished their story and really tried to stick with it when Thompson came on but it just never grabbed me like the original team did. I am curious to see how the events in Deadpool's ongoing effect this though.

Same. Honestly Thompson's run on this title has been a complete mess IMO.

I couldn't agree with you more.

The fill-in issues that bridged the gap between Kelly/McGuinness and Thompson were better than Thompson's run has been.

My general sentiments for this arc exactly.

You're welcome, and while I'm not gonna quit on any title that stars or features Spider-Man, I can understand all your feelings on this one. I'm just hanging on for the sake of the eventual payoff, because something like this does (or should) have severe ramifications on Peter's life.

They were (though honestly I think all the non Kelly/McGuinness issues have been mediocre at best for the most part). It's a shame since I enjoyed Thompson's work on Spidey and that Crime Master one-shot, so I thought he'd do well here too.
