I'd actually be tempted if buy a book with them in it if it's not Supes or Bats. Lex popping up in Wondy or The Joker taking on Green Lantern for a story would make me curious about it.

The Joker makes me AVOID buying comics.

I like Lex Luthor a lot, especially capitalist tycoon Lex Luthor.

It does help, but it also really depends on the creatives involved. I like them both enough to want to see them in really good stories, but I won't pick up something just because they're in it.

Come to think of it, I've never had Lex Luthor or The Joker sell me a comic book or help me find an issue of a comic book in a comic shop.

But on the flip side, I bet Luthor has never stolen any of your cakes either.

So, you know. It's a give and take.

While I don't like the Joker much, Lex used to be a great character. Bendis will probably fail him but in the past I did love his sparing with Superman.

Joker yes for me. I really enjoy the character and the storylines most writers write around him. Don't read Superman so not really big on Lex

Exactly my thoughts. Both Superman and Batman have many other villains worth exploring, and the villains of people who *aren't* Superman and Batman deserve a shot, too.

I'd love to see more Wonder Woman villains, like Angle Man or Giganta, or Hawkman villains, like Gentleman Ghost or the Shadow Thief, or non-ring-bearer Green Lantern villains like Sonar or the Tattooed Man, than see the same villains over and over again.

Also, quasi-related, I'm getting bored with 'boss mob' villains who take on entire teams of heroes (and yet always lose anyway), whether they be Darkseid or Thanos or Mordru or Trigon or whomever. I like me some team on team action (which only seems to happen these days if it's a team of heroes fighting another team of heroes...). I miss the Secret Society of Super-Villains!

    Nope.
Both have been done to death and I find I enjoy stories with them when they're few & far between and have a feeling of real importance.
    Especially the Joker.
I think he should only ever be seen when the s*** is REALLY about to hit the fan.
I think John Byrne did everyone a great favour when he relaunched Lex Luthor as the mastermind evil businessman - not the mad scientist.

Joker does, Luthor doesn't. There's no option for me to vote for.

I don’t buy my comics based on who the villain is.

Real comic fans know enough to always keep fewer than 40 cakes on hand to keep Luthor from being interested in stealing them.

I enjoy reading the characters for the most part so it doesn't hurt from my own POV when they're in it even though I do understand why some people think they're overused.

No. Joker used to, but then he became far too overused.

    Never cared much for Luthor.

The only villain I followed religiously was Venom back in the day.
