Default Batgirl #24 - How was it?

I still haven't picked up a copy yet, but was there ever a thread for this issue?

    Batgirl #24
After narrowly escaping the mazes of her own mind, Batgirl swings back into action to help Jacob Cesaro, an old classmate who has recently made some bad life decisions. Little does she know he’s now Two-Face’s latest recruit—and the key to his plans to take over the city! But Jacob’s not in it for the money and power promised by one of Gotham City’s greatest villains...he’s got something much more valuable in mind!

I was a week behind on this, so I don’t think there was a thread on this issue. Overall I thought it was pretty good.

Yeah it was cool. Loved that the guy just tried to blow it up anyway.

I mean...I don't like the current run or direction (though I think Scott's direction sounds the most exciting the title's been in two years), but I thought it was pretty standard, and not very interesting.

It was average. Better than the past few issues though IMO.

Is this the new creative team yet? I thought Paul Pelletier was the new artist.

From what I understand, #24 was just a one-shot story.
#25 in a larger "anniversary" issue.
#26 is when the new team starts their first arc.

Thank you major. I like Pelletier. Not familiar with the writer but I plan on giving the new run a chance.

Finally bought and read this over the weekend.

Just an "okay" issue; nothing really great/memorable, but I've read much worse from DC these days (unfortunately).

Is Batgirl still out of Gotham and in her hipster SJW phase?

We won't really know until late this month when we get #25, as that will give us the first notion of her new direction.

And isn't Burnside in Gotham City?
(Just like New York City is made up of five boroughs: Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, and the one many people tend to think of as "New York City": Manhattan.)

Burnside is a suburb of Gotham. I don't know if it's independently incorporated - it's definitely not as independent as Bludhaven. But my understanding is that Burnside is across the river to the west of Gotham island (in other words, if NML had happened in this continuity, Burnside likely would have been counted as part of the USA, not the NML).

Reference: James Harvey's map of Burnside (https://harveyjames.tumblr.com/post/...irl-50-cameron) from Batgirl #50 (one of my favorite things about that issue...and yeah, I'm a bit sad that my favorite thing about the finale issue for a well known run is a map. But eh. I'll take the map, and the bits of Spoiler, where I can get them. ).
