Bruce being selected for jury duty isn't a coincidence. I think he has worked it so he can be on the jury for Freeze's trial. Maybe because he realizes he overstepped the mark during his apprehension of him and is trying to rectify it. But I suspect there is more at play here. I am amazed they continue to hold trials in Gotham. There is no way they could find an impartial jury (this issue highlighted that fact.) I mean, they didn't even consider the evidence. They just came to the conclusion Mr Freeze probably did do it.

Curious to see how this one turns out.

That's a very interesting take. I don't really want to suspect Bruce of furthering corruption that way, unless this is actually another part of his campaign against Freeze, though.

One of kings best, i think

Weeks channeling mazz Gordon was my favorite part.

And yes jury by trial is a farce, not just in Gotham but in real life.

It works when the village has 498 people. But not now. I would guess 50% of cases, justice is not served.

King cant write batman. He should stay away from the character. But his Bruce Wayne is on point, and the story so far is interesting, i want more.

Great issue. I love Weeks art and King's dialogue doesn't seem so stilted here. I love seeing DickBats, and I love that Gordon could tell it was the "other one". Honestly the reaction of the jury is totally understandable. On one hand yeah Bats is totally unstable right now. On the other hand Freeze has killed tons of people and threatened the lives of the entire city. I'd rather put him in jail even if he wasn't the actual perp in this specific case.

evidence does not matter only who is the best at convincing the jury the prosecution or defense why you think lawyers get the big bucks

I'm always up for a Mr. Freeze story, so its good to see him getting attention here. I wondered if that was Silver StCloud at first, too. But she and he seemed incredibly nonchalant about sitting next to each other. And if they just were on the jury by coincidence and never even noticed each other until they were sitting next to each other - well that's a little hokey.

But - she'd be a decent rebound from Catwoman, I guess.

Pretty good story, though very short due to TV ads every other page to the point it got annoying. I don't know why but it annoyed me more than usual.

I'm confused with Killer Croc. I know it's a cameo, but isn't he with the Suicide Squad, why is he doing random crimes or whatever that needs DickBats to stop him?

actually enjoyed this issue, which is the first King issue I've enjoyed since the annual. Always enjoy Weeks art, so that was a plus as well.

Even without that, he'd probably be dismissed in real life so as not to be a distraction.

This is the first Batman issue penned by Tom King that fully convinced me. And given the fact that it comes after almost 30 issues of uninterrupted downward spiral for the title (no, I definitely didn't like the Batman/Catwoman content and in general I didn't like King's Catwoman at all) I just couldn't believe any more that I could reach the last page of a Batman issue feeling satisfied by what I had read.

That said, I hope that the writer will surprising me with good quality for the rest of the arc. Stories that go down the drain after a promising start are even worse than those who are flawed from the beginning.

I’ll admit I was very skeptical of the premise of this story line . What’s next? Bruce gets his tires rotated? Files his taxes?

But I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to the next issue
