So Black originally referred to Poison X, then everybody kept speculating about it, Marvel picked up on that buzz and decided to make it a book?

Not interested in another X-Force style book, and it seems redundant if Weapon X is going to continue. I'll wait until we get more info, but right now I'm not really excited. Also, I kind of want Magneto to take a break.

It's probably easier to come up with more colors than all sorts of random adjectives.

Honestly, despite its history, I don't really care if "Uncanny" comes back as a title.

If the hypothetical X-Men: White becomes the X-Book with the most diverse cast, I'll cackle.
I really hope Bunn's on this. Getting rid of a great writer who loves the X-Men and has put up with so much editorial crap to write them makes no sense.

I'm with you on this. I liked Bunn on the Magneto series, but since Uncanny ended, he hasn't been writing very well, imo.
I was sad to hear him say he didn't get to take Uncanny where he wanted to and that when offered Blue, he had to take the O5 or nothing at all. He convinced them to at least let him use Magneto. He also said the Mothervine story was always intended to be with the O5 but editorial told them they had to stay in space so he came up with the Polaris team - that's pretty damn good writing considering how much the fans loved that arc and groaned when the O5 came back.

Hmmm. If this is the case, I hope they learn the lessons of the Cable run. It's been, by far, the best the series has had, but it's also really failed in creating a tangible, impactful story after abandoning its first issue. I'm sure the plan is to return to the modern day in the final issue of the story, but I'd like Black to be somewhat more ambitious. The intimate, continuity-porn approach is nice for a solo, if you can make it feel meaningful. It hasn't felt meaningful (I do like the run, I swear) and I think a different approach would be necessary for a team book. All that said, I haven't read much of their other work so perhaps too soon to judge.

And I'm really really unsure about a Cable/Mags team-up. For one, I don't think there's either enough ideological difference or similarity to make for interesting conflict. They came about from such notably different contexts that they sometimes don't even feel like part of the same franchise. Practically speaking, Cable is no physical threat to Magneto, so that doesn't allow for a tension similar to what you had in Uncanny or Blue (where the main rival, Psylocke/Jean, could take Magneto down), but this is a negligible issue. Tonally, I don't think they mesh well. Cable's hyper-masculinity can be grating at the best of times, appearing alongside Magneto I fear he would look juvenile.

But hey, he might not be involved at all. This may not be the creative team. All speculation at this point. But Cable wouldn't be my first pic. I'd definitely like to see this follow a more 'villainous' Brotherhood and I'm unsure if that's a route Cable fans would like him to take.

Bunn has redeemed himself for me from his Aquaman run, which is not something I thought I would ever say.

It'll be fascinating to see what Black actually is.

If it’s not Cullen Bunn writing, then Marvel better watch it.

UNpopular? That run sold at issue 30# more than plenty of the current X books at issue 10#

LOL I feel sorry for the people who are passionate against color coded titles.

It felt like that at the starting but after reading that Nate Grey issue, Metus has my full attention now!

I just love how they captured each aspect of his character in the book. X-force, raising hope, plus by looking at the preview of the last issue, they sure know the importance of the Adventures of Cyclops & Phoenix mini. They know the history pretty well. And when you think about it now, that's one of the most important thing in the current marvel. But you are right, there's always room for development. Plus Black is going to be a team book.

Even if we don't have any confirmation on anything this got me excited!

I don't care if it's colours or adjectives....juts put a good artist and writer and I'll be a happy fan!

If this is a team book, similar to Bunn's Uncanny Team but with some cool twists I would guess/love:

    Magneto
    Daken
    Psylocke
    Cable
    Archangel
    Mystique
    Frenzy

Can't wait for Sunday! Gosh I hate the week of SDCC...I get so anxious...can't think of anything else.

Why are so many annoyed by the colour titles?
I frankly do not mind the title Black or White X-Men instead of adjective less and Uncanny.

Okay it's nostalgic to have this two original titles but I honestly do not mind the colours.
