Mrs Fox don’t take an umbrella
Let’s just retrieve our path to love
Behind this torii lies my body
The daimyou’s procession, the corpse guards.

(That's a kitsune nuzzling Rapunzel, for those of you wondering what the mythical connection is.)

    D'oh! I should've remembered that one.

    In that case, two sasquatches!

It's strange to see Herc depicted as a red head, isn't it?

Love that cover -- I used that Lois centaur cover a few months ago for the "transformations" theme contest. In the story itself she becomes a centaur as the midpoint of a transformation to becoming a full-fledged horse. Once she's a mare, she and Comet fall in love and frolic in the fields.

Thor's cast is a mix of Stan and Jack's characters like the Enchantress and Norse Mythology. Back in 2009, Marvel collected all of their Tales of Asgard stories, which was a feature in the Thor comics. The new printing has covers by Thor's artist at that time, Olivier Copiel.
Appearing on some of the covers are mythological characters/creatures like the Midgard Serpent, who writhes throughout the covers of the series, Idun (whose apples grant eternal youth) , the great wolf Fenrir and so on.

Here is the complete work, which became 6 separate covers. Amazing work.

My entry is from issue #3
