It is naive, so so so naive to believe that "open ethnicity" actually means they will cast a poc or rather that they would actually consider actors of color for the role. Not to say that's what you said or implied is gonna happen but people should keep this in mind.

When castings say "open ethnicity" it's usually just for show, ...not to say all of them are like that but most are, especially when they (tptb) already have an idea of an actress in mind; example being Chilling Adventures of Sabrina who also had an open ethnicity casting and after hiring Kiernan Shipka, admitted that Kiernan is who they envisioned from the beginning and wanted.

I would be shocked if they cast an actress of color but if they did I would expect a latina actress like Bella Thorne or a black actress like Zendaya, since they are not that big of stark contrast complexion wise from the comic version.

More than likely a poc on this show would be relegated to the best friend trope or they'll have her step family be biracial with the step dad being white and the biological mom of the step siblings being a woman of color.

    Zendaya is not black.
    Her father is African-American.
Her mother is of German and Scottish ancestry.

    I am multiracial myself

the one drop rule is outdated, racist, and stupid

also black and white races are social constructs
African doesn't mean black , and Europe doesn't mean white.
There is much diversity in Africa,Europe, and other continents.

I created a thread about Dick Grayson/Nightwing and Koriand'r/Starfire. It is to acknowledge and honor their iconic and popular relationship.

I created a fan page about Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson. This page is for all the Spider-Marriage fans.

So, this Stargirl show will be a subscription thing, ..like TITANS. Makes sense. While I don't see it being a success on CW, it could spin-off a CW JSA series.

    Who knows?
COMBINING THE BIGBADITUDE OF THANOS WITH CHEETAH'S FEROCITY, IS JANUS WONDER WOMAN'S GREATEST SUPERVILLAIN?...on WONDABUNGA!!! Look alive, Kangaliers!

The one drop rule thing is taken out context every time i see someone bring that up lately.
It's clear some folks don't know what that means when it's used.
The one drop rule is for folks who is passing for white for example and Zendaya is not passing.

So if she looks white and still says she is black then you could say that's outdated, because racially she would really be white because of her phenotype.
Phenotype is more important then dna.
If she looks racially brown and not black you could say that's outdated as well.
Clearly she has more then one drop for example and she looks basically black.

Zendaya is bi-racial black, but she is still black.
Now if she looks racially brown like jasmine from aladdin or kamala khan(ms.marvel),then she would not be black.
If cops were to arrest her for example she would be describe as black by the way.

The live action teen titans actor who plays beast boy is bi-racial but he still of east asian origin,so he is a bi-racial east asian.
    He is still racially asian.

I would be shocked if they cast an actress of color but if they did I would expect a latina actress like Bella Thorne or a black actress like Zendaya, since they are not that big of stark contrast complexion wise from the comic version.
By the way Wildcat Yolanda Montez is a white latina in comics but that could change or not for the live action version in the stargirl show.

It sounds like to me the guessing the Hashtag Show made about Chambers family was wrong and it's actually Sportsmaster, Huntress, and possibly Tigress.

Mr. Terrific is on Arrow, so that might rule him out.

I don't think the Ray Palmer Atom will prevent them from using Al Pratt, and I'd kind of expect Atom-Smasher to be in this for a variety of reasons.

Dr. Fate isn't on any show or planned for any movie, so they might use him. Kent for past Fate and Khalid for modern Fate?

I'm curious if the Hawks might be free for this.
If they use Al Pratt you think they'll skip Ray and use Ryan Choi as his legacy character?

I don't see Mr. Terrific being tied up on Arrow preventing him from being used especially since on Arrow his name is Curtis not Michael.

No, neither Ray nor Ryan have any ties to the JSA. My guess would be Atom Smasher.

Yeah, if we're going to get an Atom legacy, it's going to be Atom-Smasher.

Especially considering his connection to Courtney.

    Doesn't Zendaya identify as black?

First look at Stargirl (and STRIPE):

The premier has also been moved to 2020.
