I don't think so, can't see them sticking with one for more than 3-5 years
Reading List (Super behind but reading them nonetheless):
DC: Currently figuring that out
Marvel: Read above
Image: Killadelphia, Nightmare Blog
Other: The Antagonist, Something is Killing the Children, Avatar: TLAB
Manga: My Hero Academia, MHA: Vigilanties, Soul Eater: the Perfect Edition, Berserk, Hunter X Hunter, Witch Hat Atelier, Kaiju No. 8
I don't think it's feasible to permanently kill off any character who is at least reasonably popular and has a substantial number of fans. The only characters who can stay dead are the ones that nobody cares about or are almost universally reviled.

Buried Alien - THE FASTEST POST ALIVE!

First CBR Appearance (Modern): April, 2014
There is NO chance any death in the either the DC or Marvel universes will ever stick.
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
"It's too bad she won't live! But then again, who does? - Gaff Blade Runner
"In a short time, this will be a long time ago." - Werner Slow West
"One of the biggest problems in the industry is apathy right now." - Dan Didio Co-Publisher of I Wonder Why That Is Comics
I remember Bendis saying he was going to kill the Kingpin in Daredevil till his editor said "No, all that will happen is in 15 years someone brings him back as a cyborg or something." Such is comics, sadly.
I don't think it possible anymore and that is pretty sad. A good death can and should have major effects and when they never stay dead for long it never seems to work that way. I hate it when a hero is killed and everyone seem over it by the next arc. I will say that I think DC is better at killing a character and really dealing with the effects than Marvel has been in a very long time. Marvel will bring a character back in less than a year while DC will at least keep someone gone for a good few years at least. I mean just look at how much Barry's death effected Wally and the Justice League compared to when Marvel killed off Thor. It was like no one even cared Thor was dead while Barry's death effected characters for decades. Same with Ted Kord in how his death had such long reaching effects on characters.
A bat! That's it! It's an omen.. I'll shall become a bat!

THE CBR COMMUNITY STANDARDS & RULES ~ So... what's your excuse now?
Nope.
Because, at least when talking DC or Marvel, we are really talking about "Corporate Storytelling".
And Corporate Storytelling values intellectual properties over permanant narratives. Clark and Bruce and Peter will never die, nor age beyond a certain point. Their universes will constantly factory-reset themselves. Same with Luthor, Joker and Goblin. They will never die or stay dead for long.
You want meaningful and lasting storytelling, read creator- owned material.
Even something colorful like SAVAGE DRAGON still beats both Marvel and DC superhero sagas for lasting changes.
