There is a certain level of irony though, that Gunn, a guy who made tasteless and offensive jokes about sexual assault, got taken down by Mike Cernovich, an unhinged misogynist who was once prosecuted for actually commiting sexual assault. These are strange days.

No the Jokes are in bad taste. You need to be a Dave Chappele level craftsman to make a pedo joke that both has teeth and is also funny.

Family Guy has had a pedo character playing for laughs for 20 years. It's pretty highly watched and re-watched, so somebody thinks it's funny.

But yea alot of people defending Gunn would want Trumps head for similar jokes made 10years ago. But the different is one of those people has grown into a better person by all accounts the last decade.

No, the difference is one is President. Maybe I'm weird, but my standards for a movie director aren't the same as my standards for President. There are a lot of directors whose movies I'd watch but I wouldn't vote for them.

now it is hundreds. pattern for sure. maybe it was some substance induced shizo phase.

I guess that's part of the problem with Gunns jokes... I'm not sure anyone thought they were funny. If they were, people probably wouldn't be so hard on him.

Granted humor to some degree is subjective... but it seems like there's a relative consensus as far as Gunns comments were concerned. Even people defending Gunn didn't seem to find his comments defensible.

I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, but almost no one on this message forum is representative of the vast majority of movie-goers.

The majority of movie-goers are probably unaware of this even going on. I doubt even a quarter of the people who paid money to see the previous two movies in the theater could tell you the name of the director.

It's the same way Ultraman promotes Gigantism. Now, whenever I go out for a beer and I see an Ultraman, I'm just assuming he's gonna smash a monster or two before his three minute timer is up. And it's wrong of me to make that assumption, but it's just, y'know, you hear shit about Ultramen.
