James Gunn dropped from GOTG 3

Ant-Man was literally going into production when Wright dropped out it would had cost too much to stop production much like WB and Justice League. GOTG 3 is in PRE-Production with heavy on the Pre it would be idiotic for them not to delay the film and take the time to find the right director to replace Gunn on a property as big as Guardians which covers Films, Cartoons, Toys, Merchandise, & Rides. Also this isn't the first time Marvel Studios delayed a film due to behind the scenes changes Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel all got delayed for Homecoming when the Sony deal was made.

Nobody cared about the tweets when Guardians one and two were made, so obviously they weren't the problem.

I mean it's obvious they didn't think this through beyond thinking they'd get praised like ABC got praised for firing Roseanne. This is a mess of their own making. And they know the easy solution, but they won't do it.

Disney thought they had an actual outrage on their hands and just fired Gunn. They thought they'd get praised like ABC was praised for firing Roseanne, and production on Guardians 3 would easily continue with Marvel finding a new director to fill in.
