Congratulations to icctrombone for a cover which helped kick Animal Man into a more "mature" mode. The jokes abut male and female Thanagarians have certainly been around since probably the Golden Age, but this cover recognized them. And yes, the story turns out to be far more to Morrison's run tha n just a giggly (jiggly? yes, I'm probably going tpo sexist hell) joke costume.
And what has the captain learned this week? He has a reaffirmation the the idea of flight is seminal to comic book superheros. It's special in the way that we can't do it even a little bit. We have some strength, some sense abilities, we have some detective abilities and most super-powers are exaggerations of our own natural abilities. Flight is different, flight is magical. This was a theme which reminded all of us of that magic. Thank you.
