Default X-Men: Blue #32 Spoilers Discussion

    Summery:

    -Blue team fights Magneto
-Magneto is using mutant growth hormone, so he's more powerful(but I personally don't see much of a difference).
-Team at one point think they've beaten him, but they haven't. The usual twist in a battle.
-Jean teleports Emma out of the battlefield via Pickles.
-This makes Magneto more angry. He beats everyone except Jeen. Then demands to know the whereabouts of Emma, or he will kill innocent people.
-Jeen doesn't back down from this threat. Magneto says if neither of them backs down they both might die. Throws in the towel.
-He says he used the time platform and saw something. Then flies away.

    Thoughts:

This wasn't good. It was kind of a mish-mash between silver age dialogues and modern decompression, not in a good way. The next issue is set in the future. Not sure if it's Extermination tie-in or not. If it's not, it'd be beyond ridiculous.

I was going to mention that. He was clearly talking about Tyke.

But that's also a very bad scene. It's a really bad case of 'telling not showing'. He saw the most potential in Tyke. BUT WHEN? For all 32 issues of Blue, did Tyke and Magneto even have a worthwhile exchange? And nothing Tyke has done warrants such comment. He's been the most incompetent member of the O5 along with Angel. Really, what potential?

I liked this issue. Particularly because seeing the bad future + the MGH really sent him over the edge and that made sense to me. The exchange with Jeen was also neat. He realized he was wrong and gave up as it should be. Next issue is not exactly a tie in, it's more of a flashback to Magneto's trip.

The ending also should calm some people about X-Men Black. Jeen says the X-Men will need both Erik and Emma in the future, so that might be a good sign. Overall, a good way to tie this plot thread

It's just okaish, I think Bunn is at its strongest if this would've just been Polaris protecting Emma from Magneto

Was this heart symbol intentional or unintentional?

    Probably unintentional.

I liked the issue but... Why do they have to keep nerfing Emma's DF? Not shitting on Magneto, I know he's OP, specially powered with MGH but still...

Well, liked the ending anyways, it sounds like it was indeed referring to X-Men Black.
"I wish I could live life five times over!
Then I’d be born in five different places,
and I’d stuff myself with different food from around the world.
I’d live five different lives with five different occupations...
and then, for those five times...
I’d fall in love with the same person...

Like every arc in blue then

It's been a book of nothing and the O5 are boring.

Emma Frost was too helpless to my taste.

So Emma was a plot device... *sigh*.

What was the point of this issue again? To be the exposition fairy for Extermination?

The way Emma behaved in the previous issue thought she had some plan but it seemed that if it was not for the O5 probably Magneto would have killed her .

The fight was good but Magneto seemed to be holding on all the time except with Emma of course. Not even the power boost seemed to be making any difference. In the end it seems that this issue served as some kind of introduction to Extermination.

Jeen and Bobby to me are the MVPs this time.

Rank 6 of 10 good action scenes but nothing more and expected more from Emma.
