In which case mutants are probably going to be the result of Tony Stark screwing around with an Infinity Stone. I'm surprised they didn't reveal the spider that gave Peter his powers was Stark tech.

That's funny, I didn't say a thing about it. I'm posting a realistic prediction of how mutants would be introduced into the MCU.

I'm not sure yet how I would weave it into the fabric of the MCU as it currently exists (maybe some kind of weird retcon with the Cosmic Cube/Reality stone), but I think the first arc of Ultimate X-men would play well as a movie. Scott, Ororo and Jean are all accounted for, you have fan favorites in Beast, Colossus and Iceman (who would be the young viewpoint character), and I think Wolverine as an assassin for Magneto who gets swayed over to Magneto's side both out of attraction to Jean and appeal from the Professor would be a nice character arc that could differentiate from Jackman.

One difference I would create would be ending the movie with Wolverine attempting to leave the team in shame of his former employment by Magneto, but Cyclops acts as the bigger man and convinces him to stay, saying they need someone to headline their newest set of recruits who would be Warren, Kitty and Kurt. The first movie would end with the X-men and mutants being hyper popular after taking out Magneto, and lead into the second movie which would be based around the World Tour Arc introducing Psylocke with Proteus as the main villain causing mass casualties and making the world fear/hate mutants on an even bigger scale.

I'd imagine they'd pull inspiration from the Ultimate Universe X-Men, like they did with the Avengers.

I'm pretty sure they could just weve mutants into the mix by just saying that the knowledge of mutants never became public (except to maybe like SHIELD or the governments). I think X-men Evolution did this with Xavier ensuring no knew their existence by using his powers. Then boom. They don't have to use infinity stones or a cosmic powered macguffin to make it happen.
