Default The Avengers: The One Single Best Issue Ever!

There are multiple teams. Multiple series.

Out of all that, ONE ISSUE. Not because it's part of a series. Not a 2- (or 3-, or 9-, or whatever-) part episode. All By It Self (and that does not exclude stand-alone issues that were part of a series).

    The best issue was...?

Best issue is of course our opinion. If I could just read one Avenger comic for the rest of my life it would have to be #58.
If I had a 2nd choice I have always loved #119, the story was good and I fell in love with the cover showing all the avengers on the cover, even the new ones.
Years before Kal-El ever landed from Space; tales were told of the ultimate warrior/hero; Conan the Barbarian!

Avengers #177. "The Hope... and the Slaughter!"

Closely followed by Avengers Annual 10.

This is hard. Even single issues that are great are often great because of the story that preceded it (the second part of "Even an Android Can Cry" or the Giant Size Avengers issue where the Swordsman died are part of larger stories). I almost want to say a modern story would be easier, but modern stories tend to be story arcs more often. I'm dodging the question by giving more examples, but I'd have to think if Avengers: The Initiative 19 could possibly count. That issue broke my heart.

ETA: Avengers #298 is my pick for a true stand alone issue. It's the Inferno tie-in starring Edwin Jarvis!

Does Infinity #4 count? Thor killing the builder-thing was amazing.

One of my favorites from when I was young was Avengers #160 "The Trial"

Another that still holds up is Avengers #148 "20,000 Leagues Under Justice". It was part of a larger story but it works as a separate tale.
