To my knowledge there has been nothing official about Johnny being anything but straight.

As to the comment, the FF have a problem in that much of their history took part in a world with very different levels of social acceptability. What we've seen from Johnny in the past and a sixties or seventies lens we need to translate to twenty-first century standards. In 2018, it's a lot more common for two male friends to joke about their perceived homosexuality than it ever was in earlier times.

What we see as character development may just be keeping up with the times.

We’ve had threads devoted to it before, of course.

For me, it would be hard, given history of character to write the “coming out” story remotely convincingly.

But story credibility not always required in super hero comics, of course.

I'm afraid that other two members who will come in the next page aren't Reed and Susan. They may be Luke Cage and She-Hulk. At least please don't be Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
