So in your mind that makes them completely innocent -- because the "left wing" has an "agenda".

Again -- you're free to draw your own conclusions, and to dodge the "white pride" issue as much as you see fit.

If we argued that "white Christians" made them behave that way, it would be dismissed by most people as ridiculous, and rightly so.

Instead, we generally call them out for their nonsense and place the blame firmly where it belongs -- on the individuals involved.

Conversely, however, somehow that same logic doesn't apply to the "white kids" because... reasons.

Everyone is entitled to the right to preserve their culture. White people trying to protect their white heritage is no more wrong than Mexicans, Native Americans, Blacks, Chinese and Japanese trying to protect their own heritages. But when a White man simply brags about his white heritage, he is called a racist and white supremacist.
    White heritage Lol!

Paraphrasing what others have said here but celebrating “white pride/heritage” is different because:

Black pride = African culture and heritage
Hispanic pride = Hispanic culture and heritage
Asian pride = Asian culture and heritage
Muslim pride = Religions culture and heritage
White pride = proud of skin tone

You can have Irish pride, German pride, Russian pride, etc. In fact there are literally parades celebrating Irish pride, Russian pride, Italian pride, etc etc etc because they’re celebrating culture and heritage.

Saying white pride isn’t celebrating culture and heritage. It’s celebrating the fact that you aren’t black or brown.

You can look through it with white hooded eyes if you want but I'll believe a Native American war vet over a MAGA wearing kid.

A video depicting a group of Catholic school students in Make America Great Again hats taunting Native American elder Nathan Phillips went viral on social media this weekend — and now, Phillips has come forward to describe the events leading up to the incident.

Phillips, a 64-year-old Marine, veteran of the Vietnam War, and longtime Native American activist from Michigan, was in Washington, D.C. on Friday afternoon for the Indigenous Peoples March. Phillips told the Detroit Free Press that the viral incident was sparked when a crowd of roughly 100 people, including the teenagers seen in the video, gradually splintered off from a March for Life event to confront a nearby group of Black Hebrew Israelites.

As the teenagers began to attack the Black Israelites — and Phillips noted that the Black Israelites also began to say “some harsh things” in retaliation and self-defence — Phillips made a spur of the moment decision to intervene and prevent the situation from escalating further. He physically placed himself between both groups, and the anger from the students, a group of mostly white, male teenagers, was then directed at him.

"There was that moment when I realised I've put myself between beast and prey," Phillips told the Free Press. "These young men were beastly and these old black individuals was their prey, and I stood in between them and so they needed their pounds of flesh and they were looking at me for that."

The students, who attend Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky, began jeering at Phillips as he took his drum and began singing. In the video, the teens can be heard chanting “Build the wall ” and yelling derogatory language and slurs. One boy walked up to Phillips and stood inches away from his face, smiling and unmoving.

Phillips said the kind of glee in the teenagers’ face was “ugly” and reminiscent of photographed reactions to lynchings from the mid-20th century. He described their behaviour as a reaction to learning “there’s more truth out there than what they’re being taught” in their schools — and they took issue with people who are not like them.

“One thing that I was taught in my Marine Corp training is that a scared man will kill you,” he said. “And that's what these boys were. They were scared."

Phillips said that the students’ chaperones, teachers, and instructors should be held accountable for allowing the incident to happen. Speaking to the broader political climate, Phillips also said the incident was symptomatic of larger sociopolitical fissures in the United States, and he explicitly noted that President Donald Trump’s racist and xenophobic rhetoric has only divided the country further.

Covington Catholic High School has since issued an apology to Phillips and condemned the students’ actions. In a statement, the school said that the matter is under investigation and appropriate action will be taken, including expulsion if necessary.

People have been yelling to watch the whole video or other videos of the incident with the teens and Philip's. Someone did and wrote an illuminating thread on the subject.

Super dumb and they should be called out for that. I also blame any parents and chaperones who didn't intervene.

Yeah, they are a cult. My half sister is finally divorcing her husband who dragged her into that mess. One day we may also get her to truly break with that cult too. For now we are just glad that they haven't convinced her to go back to his abusive ass. But everytime she tries to go to a service the other women whisper in her ear. It apparently doesn't matter what the man does, he can get away with violence, infidelity, and sloth and still be considered a priest and a prophet.

So happy about this. It's gonna be a crazy primary but hopefully the debates will unite democrats and help the party strengthen their goals. Hopefully. I'm sure some still just want to fight over 2015-16 again

Cohen Threatened CNBC That Trump Would Sue After 2014 Poll Disappointment

Mr. Cohen called CNBC and threatened that Mr. Trump would sue over his poor standing in the ranking, arguing that the news channel was “ignoring the will of the people,” the people familiar with the matter said. CNBC didn’t respond to the threat, and Mr. Trump didn’t sue. Mr. Cohen didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Mr. Trump also called network executives to complain, the people familiar with the matter said, in addition to griping publicly on Twitter about it.

Jay Sekulow, a lawyer for Mr. Trump, said, “The president stands by his tweets.”
In announcing the contest, CNBC said those selected were business leaders who were responsible for “ushering in meaningful change” and whose impact was felt most in the past 25 years.

Mr. Trump didn’t make the top-100 cut on the CNBC poll because the judges viewed his business acumen and impact falling far short of top business leaders, with some noting that his companies had filed for bankruptcy protection more than once, according to people familiar with the matter.

Meanwhile, plenty of black people were -- and still are -- getting negative "media attention" just for lawfully protesting for their civil rights (Black Lives Matters, NFL kneeling, etc) so I'm not sure how you can argue that these kids are being unfairly singled out for their "political" behavior.

Long after these kids are no longer in the spotlight, this kind of thing will still be happening to black (and brown and LGBT) people across the nation -- just like it has been happening since at least the days of MLK's protests and long prior -- each and every time they take a stand, or a knee, against injustice.

We can throw in Nancy Pelosi and AOC for good measure -- even Trump knows how to play the game of casting blame on the "radical left".

They are actually wearing the hat of the guy who called Obama a "Muslim" and has made racist statements against Mexicans and others -- how is it in any way wrong to assume that they most likely share his views on said issues?
Because some Republicans said something wrong years ago about a powerful man doesn't give Democrats license to be wrong now when talking about teenagers. Likewise because you think some people are treated wrongly and dishonestly today shouldn't be an excuse to treat others wrongly and dishonestly.

The elder is making a lot of guesses about what the kids feel. He could be mistaken.

The Sanders campaign is really zeroing in on Kamala Harris, seeking to disqualify her early.

If this is true, Sanders and his supporters are more likely to see a major backlash. There is a high probability that Democrats won't tolerate this a second time.

Taliban Strike Deadly Blow Against Afghan Intelligence Agency

KABUL, Afghanistan — At least 40 Afghans working for the country’s intelligence agency were killed Monday in a militant assault on their base in Wardak Province, officials said, making it one of the single deadliest attacks against the agency in the 17-year war with the Taliban.

Akhtar Mohammad Khan Tahiri, the head of Wardak’s provincial council, said the target was a training center for pro-government militia members run by the National Directorate of Security, Afghanistan’s intelligence agency.

The Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. The group’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said its fighters had detonated an armored Humvee full of explosives that “destroyed large parts of the base,” on the outskirts of the city of Maidan Shahar, before other suicide bombers arrived to raid the facility.

Two senior Afghan officials put the number of dead at 40 or 45, while dozens more were wounded. But Mohammad Sardar Bakhtyari, the deputy chief of Wardak’s provincial council, said the number of dead was higher, with the attack killing 50 intelligence personnel from a newly arrived unit out of the unit’s 150 members.

Venezuela 'foils national guard rebellion' against Maduro

Members of Venezuela's National Guard have been arrested after they allegedly revolted against the government of President Nicolás Maduro, the defence ministry said in a statement.

Videos posted on social media showed the officers calling for the removal from office of President Maduro.

The men reportedly seized weapons from a National Guard command post in the Cotiza area of the capital, Caracas.

Footage also shows residents and security forces clashing in the area.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg to have cameo in The Lego Movie 2

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is going to make a cameo appearance in the new Lego movie.

Justice Ginsburg, known affectionately to her supporters as the "Notorious RBG", will appear as a Lego minifigure - complete with gavel and robes.

She was not required to do voice work for the film, but has given filmmakers permission to use her likeness.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part - a sequel to the 2014 film The Lego Movie - is due to be released on 8 February.

Producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord say they were "trying to think of people who should be immortalised in Lego and who seem fun at weddings" when they decided to include the judge.

Her character has already made its first appearance, in a trailer posted to The Lego Movie's Instagram page yesterday.
