Way too close for comfort. Closer than it really should be considering Kings comments of late.
Steve King could very well be the last Republican member of the House from Iowa after tonight.

So many profiles you hopefully get to retire, though.

"No! No! We don't play those games in Iowa! I knew you for an instigator, the second I saw you!"

Probably better for everyone (except open racists, maybe) if King is sent packing. It won't make any difference for who takes the House now, and Republicans can try to take it back with someone who isn't nuts next time.

The Times currently has Scholten leading by nine points with 29 percent of the vote in.

I can't even keep track on the queue right now, the dominoes are falling so fast. John Culberson and Pete Sessions lost in Texas. Angie Craig is beating Jason Lewis in Minnesota. Leonard Lance goes down in NJ (although I never did profile him because he's not that s***ty, I'm just reporting here)...

The Senate was always a long shot. If you're just now realizing this...well...here's your reality check.

The House and the governors' chairs are the main target here.

Not to mention all manner of local seats. I think Dems broke the texas supermajority the Republicans held, for example.

Which is going to be very important when it's redistricting time again.

Which shows the importance of contesting as much as one can. 538 credits Beto for the enthusiasm in Texas, claiming he might be responsible for as many as 3 house seats. And who knows what else outside of Texas since he forced more money in to defend Cruz.

Another target is control of trifectas (Governor and both state legislatures.)

The New York State Senate just went Democratic.
The Colorado State Senate just went Democratic (and a Democrat won the open gubernatorial election.)
The Illinois Governor's mansion went to Democrats.

These are important for redistricting, even if Democrats aren't doing as well as they hoped in the Governor's races (with DeWine, DeSantis and Kemp winning.)
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

At least my heart can be warmed knowing that filth Chris McDaniel is nowhere near winning in MS.

Yep. The Senate was always a long shot, though an outside chance existed for it. Results for it are in line with predictions in a lot of places. Gillum's loss to DeSantis is hard to take but the leads against Steve King and Scott Walker are nice and Kris Kobach losing his election in Kansas of all places is /huge/.

Rick Scott seems to have won Florida, defeating incumbent Senator Bill Nelson.

    https://www.vox.com/policy-and-polit...k-scott-winner

Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill has also lost to Attorney General Josh Hawley.

    https://kfgo.com/news/articles/2018/...-missouri-fox/

This is an odd turn in a great year for Democrats, as four Senators lost reelection. There were also surprisingly narrow wins for Manchin, Sherrod Brown and Debbie Stabenow of Michigan.

I’m so bummed by what’s happened in Florida.

I can’t even be happy about anything else.
