According to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Sunday, over half of Americans (53 percent) say the the president and his party should shoulder most of the blame for the closures; another 29 percent point their finger at Democrats in Congress. Just 13 percent of Americans say both sides should be held accountable as the shutdown continues to drag on.

It's certainly encouraging that the people are making their voices heard, the only problem is that Trump refuses to listen, or, rather, he's not listening to anyone who doesn't agree with him. While I'm sure Republicans are feeling the pressure from their constituents and the public at large, they won't lean on Trump to compromise and ease his stance because they're afraid of pissing him off and perhaps make him even more intransigent than he already is now. Polls mean nothing to Trump who only cares about what the talking heads on Faux News say about him, and they're still in his corner along with his base, and that's all he needs to continue this meaningless fight.

He only watches Fox News and they've been putting on the parents and relatives of people who were killed by an undocumented immigrant, which he mentioned during his television address. I have sympathy for anyone who loses a loved one at the hands of a violent individual. But as we all know, we have far more home grown terrorists as evidenced by the slaughter of children at Sandy Hook, the 58 people killed and at least 413 wounded by bullets or shrapnel in Las Vegas. the 17 students killed in Parkland. And the thing about the Las Vegas shooting, or any shooting that involves high velocity bullets, is even the survivors suffer from horrific wounds and perhaps disabled for the rest of their life. The internal damage caused by these bullets can be very extensive. Bones shatter, organs are destroyed.

Trump issued no declaration of emergency. And we know the NRA is one of the main reasons why.

Another reason: Trump won't make such a declaration against WHITE men, even though scores more people have been murdered by homegrown madmen than illegal immigrants. But hey, brown skinned killers make for better bogeymen to Trump and his base than scumbags the same skin color as they.

Why is this OK with ANY American? Seriously Trump doesn't know anything about policy. And he is no expert reading people either way. A room alone with Putin there is only one person who will get played and that is trump. Putin is a calculating ex KGB spy ffs. That he would go to these lengths to hide what was discussed should be disturbing to anyone. Even if details were just classified with intelligence and policy people reading it that's fine. at least there would be some records some honest assessment other than that Putin or trump say.
