I almost liked the scene in general. Kitty and Ororo should have been shown like this the entire run of Kitty's 'leadership' era, but the devil is in the details, and Claremont went out of his way to show us Ororo's feelings on makeup long ago. The girl grew up on the streets and lived basically naked in nature until she joined the team. Let her be natural.

I missed this detail earlier in the makeup discussion but this point is spot on. When I heard Guggenheim would be writing Gold I knew I wouldnt like and figured he wouldnt do Ororo justice but going into the run and reading this line when she decided to stay with kitty I thought ororo would act as more a mentor than an actual foot soldier:



but I guess in hindsight the fact kitty ordered her to stay should have made it clear the kind of role ororo would take. had she been written as a personal who gave her counsel and went on missions as needed I think i would have been far less critical of guggs. oh well.

I feel like Shipp as Storm always looks more like a cosplayer rather than being apart of a multi-million dollar film. Cyclops actually looks the best here IMO.
