    5. PROBABLY WILL: STORM

Besides the fact that there would be riots in the streets if Marvel wiped Storm out, it just doesn’t make sense. Leaning back on the idea that “Extermination” is an excuse to tie up loose ends and clean house, Storm just does not fit into the equation. In issue #1, her vampiric teenage alternate universe counterpart, Bloodstorm, is staked good and proper. Clean up complete.

Beyond the Bloodstorm doppelgänger issue, Marvel has spent too much time building Storm’s story lately. She is on both the X-Men: Gold and X-Men: Red teams and her personal narrative has been expanded with the recent events involving her parents who “passed away”. Storm is simply too important to be a cheap end. Her demise would be its own event.
    DUH!!!

It’s what I’ve said before. As a long term lurker on these boards, I’ve never felt more compelled and excited to be an X-Men fan! Jean Grey is back, and Storm is actually being focused on. Is Storm’s narrative perfect right now? NO.... But, I really feel like Marvel is trying to make her a dominant figure again, or at least is building up to it, what we need is a writer who REALLY GETS Ororo, and not someone who has a hard-on for Kitty.

I'm not exactly sure ororo is getting focus. I mean she is appearing in many books but what is she actually bringing to the story plot wise? red she is just background and gold representation of her hasnt been reflected anywhere outside its pages. time will tell what plans marvel has for her but im not convinced yet.

Yeah. I think the “writers” on CBR are just reading the boards and publishing fan theories as full-blown articles, whether the theories are sound/logical or not. Not necessarily journalism at its best.

LOL I needed a good laugh, thanks CBR.

Seriously, does that writer understand the concept of Extermination. Because right now he scored a 5/20 (6 maybe if you include Emma). The O5 are "safe", that's a hoot.....

From my memory Storm has never created fire.
Though I'm sure some would say lighting is fire enough.
If Storm were to make fire, I very always thought she gather dust, dirit , pollution or just shear Oxygen and just ignite it with lighting temeprtue control. And using oxygen to keep fuling it or for explosion.

Elements like Earth and fire have never been shown. But we have seen Strom make earthquakes.
I felt her fire and Earth abilites will come from her mystical side. In magik she grew a whole tree from seed like a snap. And in black panther she soared in with fire.

Not directly but as a byproduct of her air temp control she has. She created a heatwave explosion that was hot enough to create a fire as a side effect. Would love to see her then combine her fine control over wind to create a fire-nado.

I’ve never seen her project flames from her hands (i.e. like Crystal or Human Torch).

Well, she did something close to it like when she supercharged her Lightning into her fist creating Plasma.

Good point. I Miss the days when creative exploration with the character’s powers was done regularly.

I agree. This is the CLOSEST thing to Storm creating Fire with her hands. Other than that? I have not seen anything else. But your right this instance here was VERY CREATIVE. So much damage Storm can do just by Superchargering her Lightning. GOD that’s Brilliant.
