Despite all his faults, I would take Dan Didio over the current editorial leadership any time. Yes, there was bad books and bad editorial decisions under his tenure. But, overall, the good outweighed the bad. I mean, just take a look at current sales numbers and the amount of mediocre, boring or outright BAD comics released since Marie Javins took over.

Utter and complete disagreement. Under Didio, the bad not only completely dwarfed the good, it ate the good and shat it all over the place like a bad case of diarrhea. Didio's every last decision was driven solely by whether he personally liked a character, book, or creator, and not once by what was truly good for business. He sought to destroy or squelch any true creativity in favor of forcing a single tone on everything.

The overwhelming majority of comics produced during his reign, especially the New 52, are only good for when I run out of toilet paper during the next pandemic.

Disagree. I'm reading a lot more DC books now than I have in the past ... ten years.

DC needs to take the Legion and JSA and give them Black Label books (I'd call them GOML {get off my lawn} books). Use traditional versions with modern story telling techniques but don't fit them in with other series. The regular DC Universe would have whatever version DC feel like publishing that week.

Red Hood should go full on Punisher Max murdering all bad guys he sees and and stay away from the bat family. He shouldn't even be near Gotham.

New 52 Earth 2 should of permanently become the main JSA and had annual team ups with the JLA

Damian Wayne and Jon Kent should be from a possible future and not part of the main line continuity.

Having the New 52 take be an alternate present day would be cool. If DC ever does an Ultimate line, that might be a good type of setting for it.

Im hoping Absolute DC is a reinvention like Gods and Monsters and Just imagine.

Another DC reboot wouldnt really interest me after new 52 and Earth One. Future state had the right angle and i felt most of those additions would've been better off seperate from the main DCU.

I would only buy DC books (with some exceptions here and there) if DC starts an ultimate universe.

    I can't keep track anymore.

An Ultimate DC universe is the absolute (no pun intended) LAST damned thing I would waste money on. It's an utterly idiotic idea and I don't understand people's fascination with it. Any idea that Wizard magazine supported should meet only response: "F*** that!"

writing it as a different world in the multiverse is something I think is a great idea. In the old days we had Earth 1 Earth 2... and a whole bunch of weirder takes.

DC Comics reached its peak in the 1980s and 1990s for almost every character.

Last 25 years have been largely awful for DC, so much so that mediocre works get praised to the moon. And I don't see this improving. Anyone wanting to experience DC Comics should stick to back issues. Current comics are just for completionists and people obsessed with lore and power scaling.

What world changing event did Dan face during the early part of his term? Dan didn't have to deal with this much butchering of staff and funding like Javins.

How many fans took issue with who was hired and who was on the cover to the levels that is going on now?

Are those really bad books or is it an issue with who the talent and who is on the cover?

Funny all the sudden all these books are bad according mainly by folks who NEVER read them.

Dan was worst when it came to certain characters.

Guess what we are still dealing with the damage to most of them. A lot of the issues of today were from the seeds planted under Dan's watch.

As for sales-when you only look at CERTAIN stores and ignore the concept of a store only ordering enough copies to sell and not collect dust on the shelves. The numbers look so-called bad.

Stores are not going to keep ordering books to inflate numbers and the ones that do have ZERO right to complain about unsold books.
