In recent years more and more comic fans have become more entitled to the stories and characters, which has led to a culture of constant meta-reading, petty tribalism, backseat editorializing, and "true fandom" that sucks the fun out of comics and comics discussions. I would go as far as to say this "fanbro" culture deters new readers almost as much as finding a jumping on point in the massive story history.

Also, Jarro is objectively better than any Robin past, present, official, or otherwise; point blank periodt.

THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

For a long time, that was one of the complaints about LCS culture as well.

I prefer the name National Periodical Publications. Media pundits seem to have a confined idea of what is DC--mainly the Justice League--and they don't recognize Vertigo or Paradox Press or Milestone or Wildstorm or so many other imprints as part of the DC brand. National Periodical Publications was better as an umbrella name for everything.

Well, Detective Comics Comics is kind of a strange name for an entire comics publishing company...especially one that doesn't publish that many detective stories.

Yep, I suppose it's easy to be remembered as "DC Comics" when you have "DC" stamped on all of your big eight comics early on.

Yeah, but you can see that in the indicia, the publisher was National Comics Publications--which later became National Periodical Publications.

Of course, in the old days, publishers used many different corporate names, probably for slippery legal and financial reasons. DC's romance comics had the National Romance Group imprint on the covers, yet in the indicia they were reputed to be a product of the Arleigh Publishing Corporation.

Cyborg should be HAPPY with his cybernetics from the get-go. "Gee, thanks dad, I'm better than ever now!" No ifs, ands, or buts.

I've recently come to the realization that I think I'm over Grant Morrison. He may be one of the most overhyped (I wouldn't necessarily say overrated) writers working in comics. He's becoming like the comics equivalent of Star Wars (the movies) or Christopher Nolan for me.

oh. my. god. he's the Jackson Pollock of comics

Not comics-centric, but the Young Justice cartoon is dragged down by overly melodramatic dialog and line readings.

I've loved the season so far but I gotta concur on that one. it's mainly passable for me but it becomes more noticable with Beast Boy, which really takes me out of it.

Controversial opinion? I hate whenever they emphasis the legacy aspect.

I think the storylines are well-conceived and pretty strong. But some of the dialog and voice acting (not EVERONE, mind you) reminds of the most grating anime dubs.

I really didn't think 'Batman & Robin' was that bad or that DC is bad at movies in general.

There's much worse out there like the Swamp Thing, Steel or Supergirl movie.
