It's more like the boat got torn up so it could fall apart at any minute, and if that main mast goes, you don't want to be under it when it falls. Or under any other part of the ship when it breaks.

This is certainly why - plus it's a fishing trawler with nets potentially out, meaning you could get snagged and held under. But that's less fun than "zombie apocalypse."

Additionally, Fuuko is becoming gradually and more exponentially pissed at Luna with each new chapter - which I'm almost certain is deliberate on the latter's part. If she actually attempts to use Unluck on Luna in a fit of rage, I'm curious to see if it would affect her at all since Unluck's effects is proportionate with her feelings of affection/love/adoration towards a person or object. So seeing her use it against someone she genuinely hates will be an interesting prospect.

Who was speculating a "Zombie Apocalypse" scenario? I thought the initial assumption was the ship being inhabited by vengeful ghosts. Especially since ghosts are worse to deal with than zombies.

In my early/mid-teens I wanted to read the three things in the in-universe chronological order.

So I started with Silmarillion. Without any context of LotR or Hobbit.

I gave up fairly swiftly.
