Catching up on the God of Highschool anime and this suuuuuucks.

They have changed the rules of the tournament, characters have had entire thematic arcs crushed into a fraction of the time, dialogue has been changed to be less interesting, sequences are less complex and interesting, whole fights have been cut.

Man.

This really is quite irritating.

It's bad enough I feel I might even write a video essay about how wrong this all is. Hatred enough to make me overcome my hatred of editing.

While I'm very excited to see this reveal trailer, a petulant side of me is also screaming: "WHERE'S MY FFVII REMAKE: PART 2?!"

It also looks as though they're forsaking the party system for playing a singular character. Though, it could be too early to tell if that's the case.

God of Highschool episode 11 might be one of the most frustrating things I have ever watched.

Like, I reread the sequence in the comic that covers the same rough sequence of events and it's just...

Man, with this they have not only messed up the arcs of two major characters for this story arc. But also severely damaged the integrity of worldbuilding that is due to happen in the second major story arc.

This sucks. Super hard. I hate it so much.

I am going to write a goddamn video essay about it. Mark my fucking words.

I'll start out by saying it looks really, really nice. But, am I the ONLY one that longs for a return to turn-based, full party combat systems? Where I got to have a team of people and they all had cool powers and I could pick which ones they used?

It wasn't just "Spam attack or teleport until the thing dies while the rest of your party does whatever".

I like the idea of focusing on his unique powers instead of gadgets like they did with Peter. It nicely seperates the playstyle for the two characters.
