    I can only surmise that Itagaki has been reading Hinomaru no Zumo and thought he'd get in on that.

    That said, the body horror of what happened to Oliva was amazing and horrendous.

    But yeah, full job squad engage.
    Nik you are late!

    It also has great animation fairly consistently and really good choreography when it needs to.

    It is also hilarious. Michelangelo isn't dumb, he's more a sensitive artist figure. Leo is more cocksure and arrogant, Raphael is the see facto leader but isn't the smartest and struggles with the responsibility of leadership. Donnie is a hilarious materialistic tech nerd.

    It's a good take on the brand I think.

    The wrestling episode alone is worth watching in isolation because it is brilliant and hilarious.
    I'm less talking about the cartoons, and more the original Eastman and Laird black and white comic. I'm okay with what you describe above -- sounds interesting. It's just that back in the day Michelangelo was a bit of a clown (of the bunch, in that he joked and occasionally pranked his brothers), but also absolutely the most naturally skilled of the TMNT. And yeah, they used weapons as...weapons. The stories were serious -- well, as serious as they could be starring four mutant turtles. The fights were serious (people died).

    I guess I'm kind of tired of cartoons where weapons are used to:

    1. Clash together;
    2. Cut up other weapons;
    3. Cut up robots.

    ...I'm also tired of Mike being a doofus.

    My favourite 'everyone jobs' arc was when Ali's son basically ambushed every one of the B-rank fighters, beat them, and they all came back under their own 'ambush' circumstances and absolutely destroyed him.

    Maaaan, I loved that.

    .....

    Was pretty much the only part of Baki I've actually fully enjoyed (outside of the arc).

    You're not a million miles away.

    Also sumo is magic. Kind of.

    In very brief, since politics is technically off limits. Prime Minister's deal has been voted down again, no deal has been taken off the table but not in a way that actually is legally binding, complete chaos in the government and in parliament generally.

    Current most likely results are revocation of article 50 or a second referendum in lieu of a general election.

    Or crashing out. That remains the fear.

    Basically, things are somewhat abysmal.

    So, I'm trying to wrap my head around the Brexit situation.

    1. No-deal Brexit has now been voted down (man, May isn't looking good right now);
    2. May is still being obstinate;
    3. And the government is still against the idea of another referendum.

    Correct so far?

    Edit: Simulposted with Nik, and it looks like I'm correct. Wish I wasn't.

    I think we’re actually now going to end up with a delay of about 18 months to Article 50, followed by a further blocking of a deal, a continued blocking of a no-deal Brexit, and eventually a second referendum. What the results of that referendum will be is anyone’s guess though, because in 2016 it turned out, much to my surprise, that the British people are in fact as viscous as porcine excreta, so who knows which way they’ll jump.

    Edit: And I’m done with the politics in the thread again.
