...If there is indeed a gigantic alien corpse floating out in space, I'd be kinda freaked out by that.

Not to mention the original scientist just up and vanished really adds more to some creepy conspiracy factors in motion.

    Yeah, that was annoying.

And also if Seven Samurai lacked the interesting thematic elements that helped ground it, and had only 1 and a half interesting characters in the group, and maybe 3 of the samurai have dialogue after their introductions, and with strangely bad action scenes.

And also dialogue and plot generated by an AI

Probably one of the least interesting action films I've seen in a while. Not the worst thing as a whole I've seen though ofc

Reminds me of the Gemini Home Entertainment videos (Nexpo does a really good breakdown of them)

I started watching it. First big fight scene was vaguely interesting, but outside of that felt kind of blah, so I stopped.

I struggled to get through it until that point where at least it became mostly watchable. But yeah, not missing much. I kind of just wanted to watch it to pick up cues on what not to do when making a sci-fi verse/see how bad it could get.

It's odd, the movie really feels like a person who experienced a lot of things they liked (one of the recruitment missions vaguely reminded me of meeting the Rachni from ME1) but then decided to just repackage/reimagine all of those things in the most boring way possible. I mean they have an assassin character with dual (not)light sabers and she's incredibly boring and has almost no actually cool action at all.

Novaria mission…that was a good one.

Your account of this is making me even more solid on my decision not to watch it. Maybe that will change when part two comes out, but I doubt it.

Saw Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, just to see the final DCEU movie.

The universe goes out with a joyous bang. This was a really enjoyable superhero pulp adventure that embraced its campyness with engrossing earnestness. I also rather enjoyed the interactions and development between Arthur and Orm. It was a solid relationship to center the movie around.

It's an interesting comparisson to where the franchise started with Man of Steel. Going from a very self-serious and rather dour take on superhero stories to a colorful and delightfully self-aware (in that it knows what kind of story it is, not in the annoying meta-commentary sense) is quite the trip.

And it amuses me greatly that the final scene of the DCEU is spoilers:
Orm eating a hamburger, and putting a cockroach on the burger to spice it up.
    end of spoilers

Yeah, Rebel Moon was just….boring and obviously just a cobbled together movie from other movies.

I did like the alien designs and sets though. Those were kind of cool.
