    re-watching a playthrough of "dead to rights" and jack slade must be the most unlucky sumbitch in gaming. literally everyone is corrupt and betrays him. like, the setting of the game, grant city is a mess by the time he's done: the cops are either dead or in jail, the mayor is dead, the mayoral candidate is dead, most of the crime bosses are dead, the chief of police is dead, thousands of people have been killed, and hundreds of harden criminals have been unleashed upon the city that now has no law enforcement or structure of any kind left.

    i loved it when i bought it over 20 years ago but even i can now admit that that game had no happy ending.
