    Seven Deadly Sins: Ok.

So Ban just killed that entire demon army, either by the force of waving his hand at them or he stole vital parts with his magic ability on a grand scale.

And he's apparently no longer immortal. Wonder how that's going to turn out.

...Huh, never realized this till now. Advanced warning: Apparently people can throw up a lot of blood in this universe they live in and still fight like a brutal son of a gun.

Yeah, it's a character decision that makes sense but also might not have been the best call overall.

I wonder if he's tankier now so that being immortal is less of a necessity for him.

Well, he's definitely levelled up a lot. Quite apart from his ability to freely control energy, both stealing and giving, his physical stats seem waaaay up after his trip through Purgatory. How long was there? Like 60 years his time?

End of, he's definitely going to want to be careful when he rough-houses with Meliodas moving forward.

    Hmm.

    *checks the wiki*

They fought the demon king for 60 years. Ban searched for Meliodas for around 300 years.

So yeah, that's big old buff for him.

It's kind of a recurring element throughout the second round.

Raian lost due to major CIS. Kengan Asura has a nice respect for the balance between power and technique (though of course both are taken to ridiculous extremes). Raian would have won his fight with Ohma, Advance or not, if he'd used any of the techniques he'd learned to enhance his already insane stats and natural fighting ability. But he chose to play Julius Reinhold's game without, well, being Julius Reinhold.

If you don't know who that is yet, you will soon.

He's on round 2 so he's seen Julius shattering someone's arm by grabbing them and waving them into a wall while talking about the supremacy of muscles.

Hypothetical technique-using Raian would probably have reached the finals, given that the Kure have only been defeated four times in 300 years, at least the two latest of which were from their fighter not using the clan's techniques.

Oh yes Sharp, just telling you in advance; when you finish round 2 you might want to read Kengan Asura Zero.

It's a single volume of short stories giving backstories for some of the characters and the manga makes some references to it, plus it gives context for some of their interaction.

Actually you can read it after the first half of the second round and it won't have any spoilers.

    Cool! Thanks. Good to know.

Reviving Elaine has been Ban's overriding character motivation for a very long time now, to the point he even briefly betrayed Meliodas when offered Elaine's revival. It doesn't surprise me at all that this was Ban's decision.

I assume Gift is something Ban has acquired due to all his trials in purgatory. Otherwise he would have given up his immortality for Elaine immediately all those years ago.

He learnt it from having his attempts to steal the Demon King's power reflected back at him so often.

Yeah, like I said, it makes sense for him as a character. Might be risky for him moving forwards though.

Given that that's exactly what happened in Purgatory as we saw in the story... yes, assumption correct.

    *reads the Fang's ultimate technique*

    ...ffs...

Edit: ...okay, it's explained better with no reference to Lee's stage magic, so fine.
