You can definitely tell that the artist is having a good time.

    You read the newest Mashle?

    I have indeed.

I called the gambit with his abs before it happened but it was still super fun to read.

The art is hilariously good. The artist is really going for the gusto with these two behemoths.

I'm still reading this one; it's not anywhere as good as Ashura, for my money, but worth continuing.

Without making a value judgement, I'm intrigued to see where it goes. I find Koga quite an endearing protagonist and I like his dynamic with Gaoh a lot more than I ever cared for anything Ohma had going on.

Could use more Sekibayashi Jun but then what series could not be improved by the addition of more pro wrestling?

Ohma was pretty one-dimensional, and Koga is far more interesting, no dispute there. But that's just it; I was highly disappointed when they basically sidelined Koga and brought back Ohma (which was...ugh, not something I liked). We've seen less-than I'd like from Koga in recent times, and more focus on Ohma. Plus, what little interest to Ohma's character (for me) was the interaction between him and Kazuo, and that (and Kazuo) has also largely faded from the story.

Plus, there's the whole 'gimmicky' feeling to a lot of the fights now. I don't know, they're just not the same as the old ones. Especially since with the old ones, we got to know everyone by their fights with lesser fighters earlier in the story. Edit: and it was less about 'who are the bad guys', because it didn't really feel like there were any. Now, we just know one side really well, and have them fighting against people who are basically unknowns...and who are also 'the bad guys'. I had a lot more invested in the fights in the first series.

Mind, I really, really enjoyed the whole lead-up to the Kengan matches in Omega, with Koga training and everything. That, I felt, was actually superior to the original. Then Ohma returned, the Kengan stuff started, and for me it's lacking compared to the earlier stuff.

    Mileage, etc. ^_^

Edit: not saying it sucks, just noting that it doesn't reach nearly the same height as Ashura, for me.

I’m in the same boat. I’m really interested to see where it goes. I think Ashura started really getting good around the first round of the tournament.

More pro wrestling is always needed.

Very thoughtful statement. Assuming the series gets made, I'll give it a few episodes. My interest is still nil, but it could be a sleeper.

By association, this gives me even less faith in the Cowboy Bebop live action series being developed by Netflix.

I'm moved in with my girlfriend, with whom I will probably be getting married in the near future, and am continuing to kick ass in my new job as an immigration attorney.

I have so little free time nowadays, and PBP RPGs are just way too energy and time inefficent. Sorry to Cleric, Sharp and Siriel, you all deserved better from me. I'm not even able to keep up with my favorite mangas regularly anymore. It's a time in my life where, despite my desire to see some desires from my teenage years through, I've had to redirect everything I have to building my life. Thank you. I wish I could keep churning out quality posts with you.

With all that's obviously going on in the USA at the moment, I would advise everyone here to have a solid plan on how to submit your vote in November.

Reports are that it might be quite challenging.

Falcon - totally understandable, and frankly, real life always takes precedence. The games were kind of dying anyway, and Covid put the nail in them, surprisingly. Lack of motivation.

Congratulations on you and your girlfriend! Awesome, and good choice of jobs.
