    Not a good night nationally.

Honestly, I’m more than tired of Eurovision.

I mean I still quite enjoy the campiness, ridiculousness and the awkwardness of the hosts and countries giving the jury votes.

But the bullshit politics of the whole thing soured it for me years ago. It’s just tiresome and pathetic.

The double zero for the UK was just the tip of the hilariously shaped iceberg that was four consencutive countries gettin zero points from the public vote. You could just see the hosts wanting to get it over with but they had to take it slow because the part where they reveal the point spread is design to drag on for fucking ever. It was awfully delightful.

Less dlightful was Carola presenting Sweden's points but feeling the need to give her own life story for way too long before being asked to do what she's there to do. I've never been more second-hand embarrassed by anything in this contest.

It was a fun year. I would've prefered it if France or Ukraine had won, but Italy's song was really good to.

Dr Stone continues to be very strong with this current arc.

Mashle continues to be very entertaining.

And I even very much enjoyed Black Clover this week, which is impressive given how tepid I am on the series normally.

Also, general question, is anyone else reading Tsui no Tamaishi - Ender Geister- on here? What it kind of lacks in plot or strong characters, it makes up for in very clean art with it's action sequences and very fun visual and ability design. Sort of a dark urban fantasy/spy thriller kind of thing. Horror elements here and there, fights that skew more towards the technically clever rather than the power level one-up-man-ship.

    Anyone else reading it?

I guess, listening to UK's submission... was it the overall lack of creativity, or I guess like, flair? In the music choice that netted them a "0" or was it more of a politics thing.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

The song itself was fine, solid Eurovision stuff, nice brass motifs and whatnot. The singer wasn't very good sadly, so the delivery suffered and made it significantly less impactful.

And there's a lot of politics, we have taken quite dramatic strides to make sure that pretty much every other European country really dislikes us over the last five years or so. We have to have a pretty decent song and a good performance to get any points. We definitely won't be winning any time soon barring an astoundingly good entry.

Like, when Jemini got our last nil points they had no foldback so they couldn't hear themselves and sang dramatically off-key so their performance was actually awful so it made more sense. This is just where we are now.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The tragic twists of this series don't always work for me, but this one hit pretty damn hard. Solid mini-arc.

Black Clover: **** yeah Magna, **** yeah.

My Hero Academia: Aww yeah, my boy Deku using clever thinking, risky move and blasting through a skyscraper to take on a dangerous opponent. All that plus All Might being a badass. Great stuff.

    .

Can't say I disagree here but... Eurovision entries tend to be rather out there from what I've seen. Seemed a safe, generic little club ballad.

Well, that's a shame about the politics, is an otherwise fun little competition seems like... and more importantly gives me new music to listen to and broaden my horizons.

    I should have a look...
    Why are we here?

"Superboy Prime (the yelling guy if he needs clarification)..." - Postmania
"...dropping an orca whale made of fire on your enemies is a pretty strong opening move." - Nik
"Why throw punches when you can be making everyone around you sterile mutant corpses?" - Pendaran, regarding Dr. Fate
