Spider-Man comic-book page sells for a record $3.36 million
Spider-Man isn’t breaking only box-office records these days.
On Thursday, two pages of original art — from a 1984 comic book featuring the webslinger — fetched winning bids of nearly $3.7 million total, according to the Dallas-based Heritage Auctions.
The superstar work of the auction was page 25 from that comic, Secret Wars No. 8, as rendered by Mike Zeck. The page sold for a staggering $3.36 million, Heritage said, shattering the record for interior art, set in 2014, of $657,250 — from a 1974 issue of “The Incredible Hulk” featuring the rise of Wolverine.

Watched two movies that I saw mentioned as related to The Witch Part 1 because I'm still (returned to) obsessing over it/wanting more like it.
Ajin: Demi Human is definitely dipping from the same well (X-men, experimentation, powers) but also throws in other influences that primarily seem related to low-tier anime. The whole film is basically low-tier shonen with ridiculous leaps where things just happen despite not being set up to happen at all. Just nonsense and the fights aren't even that cool.
Divine Fury was decent, but a totally different kind of film involving an MMA fighter helping an exorcist fight demons. There's very little actual fighting in it and it's mostly there to prosletyze. It sets things up at least and there's a plot and characters worth following so it was considerably more watchable than Ajin at least.
still searching for something to scratch the itch

Is that Ajin a live action version of the manga of the same name?
Because the manga is quite good fun. The anime adaptation got hit with the "less than stellar 3D," stick which was unfortunate.
But the manga is pretty solid, really pushes the concept of "what if you had to fight an immortal who resurrects every time you kill him,"
Yep, it's a live action film. I assumed the original series must have been something for it to get a live action and an anime, but unfortunately the film just wasn't it.
One part that kind of killed my suspension of disbelief spoilers:end of spoilers
was when the antagonist faces up against a large police mob. I'm thinking like 20+ people. They then proceed to deal with him by continuously shooting him in the head, which was one of the times I thought they handled an Ajin properly. After a few moments someone distracts them, and the antagonist gets up and proceeds to just level the entirety of the police presence in the area singlehandedly and nobody can hit him anymore despite literally surrounding him from multiple angles. They also only can shoot at him one at a time like that melee trope where you can only fight the hero one at a time, but with guns. Unless I missed something they aren't even supposed to have enhanced stats so this just killed me lol
Also later on I'm supposed to believe that the antagonist and a few other guys are a big enough threat that they can threaten the entire city of Tokyo
