Now to be fair, 2 did undermine the themes of the previous movie. But that doesn't make it a bad movie

The Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial concluded

Yeah, that's a better way of putting it. Rather than saying anybody won.

I mean, in the eyes of the internet and media Depp seems to be framed as the winner even though Heard also won one of her counterclaims to Depp's defamation case in which she claimed he defamed her for calling her allegations of domestic abuse a hoax.

Depp has not been proven innocent of domestic abuse and this verdict hasn't undone the UK lawsuit in which found that 12 of 14 instances of alleged domestic violence had occurred. The verdict of this case mainly says that Heard isn't allowed to talk about these things.

And just to be clear, I have copy pasted most of this information from other sites. I have not followed the trial and have no thoughts about which of them is the worse offender. I just think that the way the trial was broadcast was a modern travesty. Turning what should've been a private affair into a media spectacle so youtube clowns could make idiotic compilation videos and everybody could make snap judgements instead of waiting for the legal outcome is just sad.

And saying that Depp just won is an oversimplification.

Now to be fair, 2 did undermine the themes of the previous movie. But that doesn't make it a bad movie

T2 took Future John's message of "there is no fate but what we make for ourselves" and took it to the logical endpoint of using this knowledge to change the way things go. Sarah Connor being obsessed with what she knew ironically caused her to lock herself onto a path in life where this could be the only possibility she'd know or ever live for and essentially changing her into what she hated most when she almost kills Miles Dyson for something he hadn't done yet. It had a neat ending that tied everything off well.

Granted, what it does contradict is Sarah and Kyle's predestination paradox, which I feel most people would rather leave hanging rather than making it the lynchpin for loopier sequels down the road. Salvation had the germ of some interesting ideas of John having to deal with the same sort of thing Sarah had to deal with in his fixation on having to become the man that would somehow vindicate her cursed knowledge, but fumbled on the delivery.
