Okay, this is definitely different and I have to give Capcom credit to introducing this big of a change to the classic series. I wasn't expecting SF6 to have sandbox exploration and Action-RPG elements.

I wonder how much of remake this will be. The first three games, while classic and fairly innovative for their time, were a bit janky and outdated.
RE4 on the other hand still plays fine to this day and is kinda legedary for a reason. So I'm not sure how much a remake is needed.
Eh I thought so too until I tried to replay it on Steam and was shocked at how long it took to relearn the controls(movement and lack of camera controls in particular haven't aged well), I also forgot how much they were designed specifically for the gamecube controller, in any case I think the controls for the previous remakes are still a pretty dramatic upgrade and will probably be enough on their own to get me to play it, also won't really miss the quick time button mash events if they remove those as well

Going through old Dragon/Tiger Gate issues. Finding some I've not read (I have a lot scanned, I used to have more of them in actual paper copies, but missing large chunks). Finally get to read the tail end of a fight for which I only had the starting.
There's this one guy who absolutely whales on the main group of characters, even when all of their allies show up. He's tearing apart everyone but Gary Stu Tiger Wong, and Tiger is still losing the fight, even with all of his extremely competent friends running interference.
Enter Ancestor.
The hilariously overpowered immortal shows up, casually overwhelms this team-wrecking enemy without using a special technique (like, seriously casually), poisons him, then uses the guy as a club to beat up Tiger Wong and his buddies.
Oh, Ancestor, you wacky, wacky overpowered antagonist.

While this is a big change, Street Fighter is probably the series that changes things the most in FGs tbh. People going from classic SF2 to Super Turbo hated the addition of Supers iirc. People going from SF2 hated the addition of new characters, parry system, and different types of archetypes. People going from SF3 hated the art style, the focus attack system, the increase of focus on combo precision and frame knowledge, and the way some new characters played, calling some aspects like something from another fighting game series. People going from SFIV hated the scaled back combo execution, the difference in normals, the differences in speed of dash and walkspeed, the shift away from proximity normals, and the crush counter and normal priority system. I'm sure SF6 will face similar complaints for its deviance from different parts of the past game, the past two games, or the past games as a whole.
In contrast, someone who played the Tekken from like 6 versions ago can probably pick up the game and recognize the grand majority of concepts there.
On an unrelated note, there are tons of leaks on this game at the moment too.
