"Superboy Prime (the yelling guy if he needs clarification)..." - Postmania
"...dropping an orca whale made of fire on your enemies is a pretty strong opening move." - Nik
"Why throw punches when you can be making everyone around you sterile mutant corpses?" - Pendaran, regarding Dr. Fate
Well, it died three times across two versions of CBR and on Pantaloonacy so that was kind of its defining attribute.
Poor Mayumi. I was looking through old RPG threads on here as brain food and see she almost rode again in a Cleric RPG that never got off the ground I think? [Gehenna I think(?)]
Poor Quirat also, she looked very interesting.
If I were to revisit Underbelly, which I almost certainly will not, I would need to simplify the system a bit. Too many stats, too many brackets.
*whispers* Bring back the Rumbles RPG for one last hurrah. *whispers*
Hahaha, there's an idea.
Poster Persona stuff has fallen out of vogue over the years and I don't think freeform would work that well.
I also would want to change the pitch, I'm less about the Rumblers being inter-dimensional cops for the multiverse than I was like however many years ago it was that we did the OG Rumblers RPG.
Didn't I kind of take over a freeform RPG and co-opt it to be Rumblers RPG 2.0? I remember something about making ya'll fight a giant foetus the size of a planet.
Four Knight of the Apocalypse: Oh dear.
One of our titular heroes seems to be just a wee bit more OP than the others. Just a smidge.
So I started making some scribbled notes on how a Rumblers RPG system would work if I were to do it again.
Just wanted to flag a key quote here:
I'm not sure if it'll come to anything coherent but it's fun to tool around with.I feel like this system should be busted as fuck though. That's rumbling.

I did do a bit of looking around for an online dice roller with a dedicated log and notes system the other day. Nothing as good as the one on Rpol haha
Okay, for context the document for the system is now about 600+ words long and when I described the system in brief to my housemate he said "that sounds volatile," so I'm having fun messing with it at least. So what does 'busted' mean, here?
The "busted" stuff refers to that I've (so far) built it to prioritise fun and self-expression but am also having some fun ways to strongly influence player build choices toward forms of specialisation.
I have a couple of systems for wild boosting of abilities, one of them is just the "Rumble" stat [RUM]. They come with a couple of punishment systems for over-exerting. Currently figuring out how Techniques/Spells/Skills are going to work.
Yeah, that's always tricky. But you don't really need a full dice roller that does everything. If the system is built on one dice...that's all you need. ^_^
This sounds quite interesting. Looking forward to seeing it, when it 'comes out'.Okay, for context the document for the system is now about 600+ words long and when I described the system in brief to my housemate he said "that sounds volatile," so I'm having fun messing with it at least.

Figure the only hard-coded rule in a Rumblers/Persona/kayfabe came would be like... "If you're gonna PvP, roll dice.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran
