    Oh that's a mistake.

Not because it's a bad match up, it's a great match up. But both series are in their respective final arcs and both characters will probably get some more significant feats and final power ups before all is said and done.

They should've waited a bit longer.

With that in mind, I got some immediate red flags surrounding the minutae of the major inciting incident of the film.

    spoilers:
In the middle of a sendoff of T'Challa (and Chadwick Boeseman) along with the introduction of a civilization that was so hidden, it's effectivley to Wakanda what Wakanada was to everyone else, Riri Williams' involvement with configuring a vibranium detection device for the US govenement forces the view to move from these fantastical elements back to what American covert ops have to do with all of this, just to lead into characters ripping on Martin Freeman for being a colonizer when he tries to help.

Because that was the best part of the last movie, better call back to that! /s

It's kind of weak to tie Namor's introduction into that, perhaps they could have found another way where Wakanda is concerned. I understand it was to ground the events into reality somewhat, but when the major upsets in the movie involve dipplomatically gaslighting the fish people somehow, they didn't really need to introduce Ironheart to be the lynchpin of all this; both a reactionary bystander to remark on how strange things are but also someone exposited to be on Shuri's level scientifically.
    end of spoilers

Cut that out and things might have proceeded at a better clip.
    I agree with this.

So, I am rather pleased with myself.

My thesis defense for my Masters was today.

While I can't decide if it merely went well, or very well, I successfully defended it nonetheless.

Naturally, I have decided to pat myself on the back in the public sphere, because...

    I mean, it's what I do?
