What's crazy is that it doesn't even open in Japan for another 2 weeks, where it'll probably pull in major numbers

Fairly interesting video, attempting to determine what actual Martial arts the Ansatsuken from Street Fighter is based on.

The answer they come to is spoilers:
A mixture of Kyokushin and shorinji Kenpo, with a smattering of Shotokan via the kicks
    end of spoilers

There are a couple people here interested in martial arts, so I'd be interested in seeing what they think of the vid

    Ichigo: What even *are* you?!

Kenpachi: Some say my mother was a train. Some say that I'm a rejected Godzilla monster too strong for the series canon. But everyone says: I'M THE KEEEEENPACHIIIIII!!!!

And man, the MHA English dub is really good. I should rewatch the series with the English dub. Ooh, and I'll include the movies and OVAs, placing them in their chronologically correct places. That'll be fun.

Spy x Family: We only get a omake this week, but it was cute to see the kids(particularly Anya and Ewen) bonding over the shuttle launch in this chapter. Also, that colored page was hilarious (Loid, you may be a man of many talents, but I don't think speaking alien languages is one of them and I think you should be more concerned that your daughter wants to shoot one in the face).

Undead Unluck: I did not realize how much I wanted to Sean and Gina to interact with one another until this chapter, because it is hilarious. And I love how Sean has expanded on his interpretation of Unseen to manipulate his own mass; it makes me wonder if he can actually become intangible now. I'm also looking forward to Nico exploding on them for being unwanted stowaways.

i think the answer was more like [along with my thoughts]:

    spoilers:
There is no one clear description of what Ansatsuken exactly is. That while certain aspects of it are shared commonly, for the most part it is a very personalized style. In my opinion, it is as much Art as it is Martial Arts. All artists start off learning the technical aspects of the craft, then they are set free to develop their own style based on it. I get the same vibe from this discussion of Ansatsuken.

It's an interesting analysis, I'll give it that. I can't comment on the Karate stuff - I've not practiced nor researched Karate outside of looking into a little Kyokushin. But if he's correct about how the different Karate styles listed here at least PRESENT themselves, then it all makes sense. They do pop out the BS about Kenpo/Kempo and pressure point stuff, but if it's only in context of fictional martial arts, fair enough. ^_^
