Now, if both situations turn out to be red herrings in the end, fine. But until proven otherwise, yes, this scenario is contrived and horrible story-telling. And I aim blame at Jason Aarons listening to your pet squidboat.

After all of the hype, Dante is casually killed off by Emiko soooo it looks like she'll be the new big bad? Though going by the last three, I'm not expecting much. Also, something is going on in the flash forwards buuut admittedly I stopped paying attention those. We meet Diggle's Army General stepdad though. So that was kinda neat. Felicity.....exists.

it's heartwarming to see that he and Raiden freed themselves from the vicious cycle of killing one another due to misunderstandings and maintained their Father-Son dynamic. Plus, Liu Kang becomes a God, is wed to Kitana for eternity and is the new creator of the next MK timeline
