It's a very interesting series. It's managed to surprise me a lot with how it's constructed and what it's trying to do.

Less-than-pleased with the latest Kingdom.

Shin is losing, flat-out. Shin is also badly injured. Shin has a 'fighting for friends and beliefs' moment. Shin then injures the other guy with his next attack, kills him with the following one. If it happened once, I'd be okay with it, but Kingdom is just brimming with 'I won't lose because I refuse to lose' moments. It's starting to get really grating, and takes all of the drama out of the fights (and, let's face it, Kingdom is now 80% fights).

I think the thing that's hurting the series here is the weekly format. I was super fatigued on this arc like a month or so ago but I ended up, for various reasons, going back and reading large chunks of Kingdom again and, in a straight read through, this arc felt so much better and tighter than I had thought it was previously.

Pacing does a lot.

I find it funny how she drinks blood out of people with a straw like they're slurpies. Got me wondering if she carries one around all the time, and if it's a bendy straw or even one of those crazy straws.

I'd never try to kill them on their first workout but with how sedentary they are even though I'm going to go light they're probably still going to hurt.
