Great! I'll have a look this week - I didn't really get on much last week, either. Was somewhat hard -- work stresses.

I know the issue. Incredible Chap detailed it pretty well. ^_^

And it sets the pattern for Ancestor. It's always amusing to watch the comic build people up -- heroes or villains -- then have Ancestor wander in (a villain) and massacre them. Often leaving them dead. In a comic that so grossly panders to the main character, it's a fun break from the norm.

Interesting directions, good humor and while it's still not my personal favourite take on MJ I do enjoy Michelle and how she plays off Peter.

    Oh and, spoilers:
I am now more than ever dead certain that Mysterio is a complete fraud. Just like he should be.
    end of spoilers

Aaaahhh... **** I forgot that this dude was even in this story arc.

EDIT: Also, I'm up to date with the online release of Karakuri Circus and now have the usual emptiness of not having anything massive to read at the moment.

Go away Houken. Shin is in no state to test your mettle right now.

I would equally settle for just "Go away Houken," full stop.

Like if he just never showed up again, that would be perfectly fine by me. I wouldn't even question it.

Sadly, Yasuhisa Hara swings in and out of wanting to write a traditional shounen manga or a war epic with awesome tactics. He's much better at the latter, but the same tendencies which give us awesome general vs general fights tend to get more exposed whenever he brings Houken on.

On the plus side, it's nice to see Ten actually giving big and relevant commands rather than just sweating at the war table. Abandoning the HQ to dodge the hunter force and mount a pincer attack on each remaining army was a gutsy move. And Akakin is such a delightful battlefield troll.

I enjoyed the footwork lesson, and liked Gaoh acknowledged that different styles might think of footwork differently than his style and they might well be valid too. However, one would think boxing of all disciplines would have ingrained in Koga the value of using footwork to get into the best position. Koga is still more martial artist than brawler.

Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence.
