Welp, finished Iron Fist. A little anti-climactic, but hella cool set-up for a potential Season 3.

We’re getting into Brubaker territory. They dropped the Orson Randall bomb.

So they basically turned Joy Meachum into Felicity Smoak. All the bitching, none of the hacking.

Played the new Spider-man game for most of the day.
It is really lots of fun and I'm getting into the flow of the combat.
Love the game's version of Mary Jane.

Soooo Felicity then?
Lol but I'll take your word for it, and I'll see if my opinion changes after the last few episodes.
I gotta admit I'm having trouble keeping track of which is Mary and which is Walker.
Speaking of whom, didn't Typhoid throw DD off a bridge in one comic?
And how exactly does one get more psychotic than Frank?

I just realized something.
Boku no Hero Academia's author, Kohei Horikoshi, wrote two mangas before doing his current one. Both of them failed, failing to blossom in the era of the big 3. Boku no Hero Academia was his third and final attempt to be a mangaka - if this failed, he would be out. The manga starts off with an MC who has tried desperately to become a hero, holding onto his ideals but being beaten down again and again. He's on the verge of breaking when he finally happens to do something crazy at the right time and attract positive attention, eventually leading to his rise. Boku no Hero Academia started as Naruto was winding down, and Boku no Hero Academia happened to be in the right time and place to capture that audience (in addition to simply being a great manga). A lot was owed to sheer persistence and guts, but there was a lucky element of chance to Deku's and Horikoshi's success, and both the author and the MC could very well have failed if not for getting a lucky break. The implication being countless unseen others did fail.
Boku no Hero Academia captures the feeling of desperation, not out of fear of death but out of a pursuit of one's ideals, better than any other manga I know of. And it wouldn't be so good at this, I think, if Horikoshi hadn't experienced such desperation himself in his pursuit of becoming a successful mangaka.
