So yeah, the Pokemon anime is getting a hard reboot after all. Ash is still the protagonist, but he's starting his adventure from the beginning. The new character, Go, is going to be his partner and the deuteragonist.

Let's hope the second iteration of Ash's journey is more consistently successful than the first.

...I'm now imagining a situation where this Ash finds out another Ash exists (the original Ash) and goes into a breakdown that

1. He joined a lot of leagues and didn't win a lot of them.

2. And that he never ages.

....Like a strange mental breakdown of horror.

...I'm now imagining a situation where this Ash finds out another Ash exists (the original Ash) and goes into a breakdown that

So an existential crisis-induced breakdown? Hell, maybe he discovers that he never aged, and despite all his struggles and trials, he couldn't win any official leagues lest the world reset and leave him back at the beginning to start it all over again without knowing that happened.

Hell, maybe there were several different timelines, where he goes through the journey over and over again, winning a different league each timeline and getting reset immediately after that victory. The only reason he knows this is happening due to a glitch in universe revealing it to him. And only he knows, with everyone else completely unaware that it's happening.
