Darn, I hope that doesn't preclude the Moro arc from getting animated
Darn, I hope that doesn't preclude the Moro arc from getting animated
Latest SPY X FAMILY chapter is freaking riot.
Anya is just not good at... a lot of things. But she tries so hard.
And we get to learn more about little Damian.
To me it has several neat moments and Merus is actually an interesting character, he basically the best part of the arc. And when the action is good its really good. But there have been a lot of disappointments throughout the arc for me. Which I shall now present in an extended bit.
Toyotaro: This the new main villain Moro. He's an ancient evil goat wizard locked away centuries ago.
Me: That's cool. Babidi was a wizard but really squishy and not actually a threat on his own. Is Moro going to have like a bunch of weird and powerful magical abilities and spells to fight the heroes like no other enemy has before.
Toyotaro: He absorbs energy from people and planets. He has a few other tricks too, but like 90% of his thing is going to be absorbing energy until he can overwhelm his opponents with raw power.
Me: Oh. That's kinda disappointing, especially since I personally never cared for that kind of ability. Does his energy absorbtion at least have some limits or special requirements?
Toyotaro. Nope. He can just do it whenever.
Me: Oh. Fun.
Toyotaro: And he can turn a bunch of mooks into SSB-level threats just like that without any downside.
Me: I repeat my earlier statement.
Toyotaro: Here's a bunch of Namekians fusing into one super powered namekian to take on Moro.
Me: Cool. The namekians usually don't get to do much and I really liked the two from the Tournament of Power arc. This could be an interesting new character, especially for Piccolo to hang out with.
Toyotaro: Moro kills him in one blow without even looking at him.
Me: ...what was the point of that scene?
Toyotaro: To show how strong Moro is.
Me: I ALREADY KNOW... I know that Moro is strong. He's fought Goku and Vegeta competently and has them uncertain about how to deal with him. That's impressive enough on its own. That scene was pointless.
Toyotaro: Buu is immune to Moro's abilities and the Grand Supreme Kai manifests through Buu to fight Moro.
Me: I wasn't expecting that. It's nice to see Buu relevant again after being cut from the ToP. What kind of developments will come from this?
Toyotaro: I'm just going to use it to drag out the story a bit until Moro has enacted his final plan and then I'll not do anything with it.
Me: ...how fun.
Toyotaro: Moro now has a massive army of henchmen that he freed from the Galactic Patrol's prison.
Me: Neat. Are there any cool and notable characters among them?
Toyotaro: Sure. Here's Seven-Three.
Me: Ok. He's a bit personality-deficient, but he's got a solid enough design and while I'm not that hype about copying others abilities, at least you've given it some interesting restrictions. He'll be a fun fight for somebody. Anybody else.
Toyotaro: One buff dude, one small dude, one dude that kinda looks like a panda, a bunch of ladies that Roshi can perv on (completely ignoring his character development from the ToP arc) until they fuse into a chunky lady.
Me: Because we wouldn't want them to steal any spotlight from moro would we?
Toyotaro: There's a massive invasion of earth and the heroes will be fighting in different spots with the Galactic Patrol backing them up.
Me: Nice. This feels like a proper invasion compared to when Freiza did it. Will the good guys get to fight their own mini-boss before the showdown with Moro?
Toyotaro: Gohan, Piccolo, 17 and 18 will have to share the most interesting opponent. Everybody else fights mooks or some of the less cool villains.
Me: Right right. Because except Seven Three and arguably Moro the other villains from this arc are kinda dull. Do they at least get to finish all their fights properly or...
Toyotaro: Goku comes in and saves them all and beats the last meaningful villain before Moro by himself.
Me: So same procedure as usual then.
Toyotaro: No no. Vegeta is probably going to save the day and beat Moro in the end.
Me: That's neat. If I cared more it would probably be more than neat.
Soooooo FF7 remake talk
spoilers:end of spoilers
The Avalanche trio surviving the sector 7 battle hit me in the feels WAY harder than I thought, mostly I guess because the expansions to their characters(Jessie in particular), which were ASTONISHINGLY well done, had me dreading their deaths that much more, I mean I made the meme joke post a while back but I'm shocked they actually went through with it, and really REALLY happy this isn't just a 1 for 1 remake but an entirely new imagining of the story, shame it'll probably be years before the next part comes out
While I expect it'll be a while before you can play FFRemake II, it won't be as long as the first one took to come out. They've created the engine and a bunch of assets and have a solid structured pipeline that works. The only issue I can see is whether the switch to PS5 hardware, which will presumably happen, impacts things significantly. Ideally not as I've heard much of how the PS4 to PS5 should have good compatability.
My guess would be like... two years until the next instalment?

I'll agree to disagree with you on that one. While I thought the remake was cool, if all they really ultimately end up changing is just reversing deaths of beloved characters than that's just cheap fanservice. I thought fleshing them out would make their deaths more impactful, but if, and that's assuming the following games won't end up mostly the same anyway as I feel they will, that's all they ultimately end up changing, they end up following through then it won't be a poor attempt at fanservice to me lol

The gritty stereotypical 90s antihero got his ass handed to him by the man in gold. I am pleased.
Also, next time is a hilariously ludicrous curbstomp unless Kenobi's got some serious shit hiding in "Legends". Or they decide to scale him to other Jedi (especially RoSW Rey).
Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence.

took an animation prompt on Twitter and made this. I don't normally do effects stuff but it turned out pretty nice.
not bad for 1.5 hours work:
Nice, I like it.

Well as for my women issues: Just trying to finish college and get a real job, when employed and making my own money will likely be alone. Though I have a ray of hope. My best female friend keeps in contact with me and has been sweet for so long. She is friendly to me, flirts with me and shares my hobbies ( a With my current gf. Only my family and her dad support it. I hate it now, you guys know the negativity, my real time anime club hates her, and her only people who loke her are the kids she teaches. Just turns off adults.)
Anyway, thinking of getting the courage to ask my best friend out. It’s what my dad told me at one point. The best kindle of marriage is when your wife is your best friend.
I still hate my family though for how they treat people and they despised “her” because her skin tone is darker than mine ( yeah, their racist. Which makes no sense to me in looking up out gene tree. Hell I can have a natural Afro if I left my hair alone.)
Just yeah only reason Zi haven’t is I do not want to be a burden on her, she supports her family like I used to support mine.
Still I think the biggest hints it can work are: We share some of same hobbies/humor, she still flirts and has no guy right now for a while. Hell I wish I had the job already, she moved to Texas. With the means would have been there in a heart bit of not for *this situation*
