to reitorate my post about golden kamuy: two dude get into a...........I'm not making this up...........jerk off battle.

a dude and a serial killer were firing off their man-butter at each other like they were in "john wick" and one of them was matrix dodging the stuff as it was flying at him at the speed of a bullet.

i have literally seen everything now. there is nothing in manga that will top that.

Kenpachi: Some say my mother was a train. Some say that I'm a rejected Godzilla monster too strong for the series canon. But everyone says: I'M THE KEEEEENPACHIIIIII!!!!

keep in mind, this is the same manga that had a guy died while he was fucking a full grown black bear.

no, the bear didn't maul him to death. he just died during the act because that was his aream.

    this "fight" tops that.

Y'know, Tsugumomo's hentai content suddenly doesn't seem all that--no. Nope. Can't say it. It's still worse(as is the anime version of Interspecies Reviewers because WHAT THE HELL, JAPAN?!)

I've not seen the anime version but the manga Interspecies Reviewers is actually quite a sweet and charming little sex comedy. It's nowhere near as unpleasant or sexually violent as Tsugumomo.

Also, Tsugumomo has an awful lot of extremely sexualized children in it which is... no.

Golden Kamui, though I fell off it during last year, tends to more on absurdity in its sex stuff. It's sometimes gross but that's in pursuit of absurdity rather than titillation or shock value.

Tsugumomo is garbage, beautifully drawn garbage. Garbage that, at one point, had some interesting ideas that it mostly abandoned in favour of terrible, quite disturbing porn.

Do NOT watch the anime, then. I read that compared to the manga, they massively ramped up the sexual content to being an actual hentai(which is why Funimation dropped the license for it) and it is not an exaggeration after watching four episodes of it.

Started reading A-bout this week and...Wow, a full chapter where the main character flat out roasted the most generic guy in the gang how much of a Yamcha he is.

...Like revisited major scenes of the manga with said guy in it just to point out how truly insignificant he really was in it.

Edit: Yeah, despite that, it's played for laughs.

That's actually a real shame. I quite enjoy the manga, it's a sort of silly and very pleasant little read. Some actually very uplifting messages about body positivity in there and everything is consensual and it's just like... a fun time?

I will steer clear of the anime though. I mean, I don't think there's enough /in/ the manga to wring full episodes out of so I guess a dramatic expansion of the sex scenes is where that was going to go. Which kind of, weirdly, isn't what the series is about?

But yeah, the manga is mostly just funny rather than sexy. If you want something light but a little risque, which might be just the thing in the quarantine times, it's a fun little ride.

Also, it case it wasn't clear from my discussion of it, Tsugumomo is not something I would recommend to anyone beyond a very selective set of chapters.

The art is gorgeous, the fight scenes are generally very well choreographed and /some/ of the emotional beats for /very specific characters/ are quite interesting.

The rest of it is a trash garbage fire the size of Idaho. Absolutely awful stuff.

....Yeah, totally what you said. Ran into it, thought it sounds interesting with neat art but yeah. No.

I've been clamoring for an anime series with a fairly hefty amount of content to watch without needing to go through like... (checks number of One Piece episodes currently out) over 920 episode (oh dear lordy lord One Piece is long). So I've decided to watch A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun.

I've gathered that these two series interconnect and impact each other at certain points, and that there are a few suggestions for the order they should be viewed in. So I just figured I'd check if anybody here has any suggestion for which viewing order they think is best.

I'd go with the first one, A Certain Magical Index, first. That one starts a littler earlier than Railgun.

To be honest, One Piece is a much better read than it is a watch
