I don't know if they did it, I don't read Rebirth at all, but I guess Clark would have lost his powers when he spawned Jon. It would still have no sense, DC contradicts its own canon. in the new 52 SM and LL of another dimension they had a son, what happened? that son died due to the fact that human and Kryptonian DNA were not compatible (see the horrible origin of Kon new 52) if I remember correctly I think that in pre-flaspoind it was mentioned that Lois could not have Clark's children, now instead, it seems that these things would never have been said.

DNA is not a light switch. Being "depowered" does not change his genetics. He's akin to a battery that absorbs and gets powered up. Losing power does not change his basic structure. A battery doesn't become a candle because whatever powers it dies. Clark losing powers would be Kryptonian and still above the average human with the same DNA. So even if DC decided that Superman can now procreate with humans ( how I have no idea) ...this is a game changer. If he could then what that could mean for science and even national security for the earth? Lex and every arch criminal genius and even the Govt would be creating armies for super soldiers once they got hold of his dna. It would be too tempting and logical ( as in the case of the govt) not to do it. My head canon is that Diana is like a wild card. And I always assumed too like Lokimaru the magical/ godly component in Diana's dna is what perhaps is the telling factor that allowed them to procreate. I am eager to see how Miller sees Jonathan in The Golden Child. I assumed this is why Jonathan from The Kingdom had power over the time stream too. Technically if Zeus is now Diana's father, then her children with Superman has got an Olympian God as a granddad.

It really is a shame what was shelved. The little tidbits we got from Soule re Max Lord and what we knew Hitch had to change with Hunter etc etc. And for what? Nothing really changed. The sales currently of SM and WW are not soaring. They back down to pre new 52 levels and still need renumbering boosts and variants. The new 52 could have continued in another verse if they so wanted to reboot. Yet they would rather trash everything. It's mind boggling to me the mind set of DC to throw the baby out with the bath water or worse try to Frankenstein a new baby from other fully formed ones, and it ending up a series of contradictions and even more convoluted.

I remember a time when science was respected and explained (or at least they tried to explain it) in comics more seriously, crazy theories were created and etc, if I'm not mistaken there is a book or it was a TV special, I do not remember now, which was titled "Science in Comics" ... well, as I said were other times ... now any restriction is removed without any excuse or a theory minimally plausible! In my opinion this is dangerous to the force, the content of history since the lack of a minimal component of logic only impoverishes the same.
A correction: what I read was an article in a Brazilian scientific journal called Galileo and entitled: "Comic books can bring science closer to popular culture"

Superman v Wonder Woman. Even though that scene was popular in JL...I still think it could have been much much better. They wasted Diana and Kal as two top tiered tanks. Do you all recall GOTG fight between Gamora and Starlord? Even Hulk and Widow in the first Avengers? Both were well crafted. I think WB could have had something with SM v WW to rival those easily. Once again wasted potential.

Yeah. As I said, we would understand if the story was done or sales weren’t good. But that’s not the case at all. Soule had things planned and sales were good. Sales for SMWW were very good actually considering what DC publishes still. The charts are there for anyone to see and compare and contrast. SMWW 1st issue was a very good debut. And they did not have double shipping or returnability. What was sold was sold. They were always top 10 in the digital charts. And this was at a time new 52 had strong books with Batman and Justice League etc along with other Marvel and independents. I think DCYou was the time of the shift and the big page of Clark telling Diana he did not know if he loved her cause fans some consternation. Yet with all that many loyal people still supported, despite not liking what the writer at the time was doing and the fact DC was going to kill Clark and reboot. Like SMWW never went below 28 K, even up to the last. Fact 28, 569 K was its hard copy sales.

There are many books now that sell way below that number and DC still publish them.
